sorry i've been mia for so long. i've just recently began to catch up my email and facebook accounts. they were going to be the toughest, so i tackled them first. i had nine months of communication to catch up on. almost done and then i plan on catching up with everyone here. i've been hitting alot of yard sales, peddlers malls and goodwill for books. i've currently got a stack waist high to get to. my diabetes is going heywire, so my vision is shot for the moment. if i'm reading a printed page, i have to have a magnifying glass. and no need to get new glasses until the sugar's normal. hopefully i shall see all of my wonderful friends here in short order. enjoy the books!!!

I think you might enjoy reading mystery books by Michael Connley. I just read "The Closer"and found it "a page turner".

I read "The Queen's Fool" by Philippa Gregory. It was a great read. If you have not already read it, I think you would like it a lot.

Hi! Glad to hear your Dad is okay and doing well now. All that running around helping him really takes it out of you, doesn't it? But it's worth it, just glad everything turned out okay.

Finally have all my books unpacked and in shelves in my sewing room--the first time all my books have been in one place. But there's a down side to that! I sit there and a book will catch my eye and I start it. I now have seven books going at one time. That's bad and I must get control over it!! I did get a library card here. Very large, nice library, and there's a smaller one somewhere near home, but I haven't seen it yet. I'm thinking of volunteering to work in their used book store. Actually that might not be a good idea, cause I'd just buy more books! I am getting more time to read now that things are quieted down here and I'm really enjoying myself.

We have had some coolish weather and I agree with your brother-in-law! But it usually get warm in the afternoon and that's nice. We have had to turn the heat on at night though.

It will be just me and my husband for Thanksgiving, but we are going back to CT for Christmas. Thank goodness for phones!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family--and to KoKo!

oh, think nothing of it. sometimes, even everyday life steps in and you can't get online as much as you would like, but your father's health is way more important that anything like this. i'm glad to hear he is doing better now.........and just in time for thanksgiving.
i just 'finished' c&p. i couldn't get into it, either, but i'm one of those idiots that can't put a book down once picked up. i almost did with this one. i did cheat and skim the last few chapters then read the last few pages........i didn't miss a thing. it really was an awful book. it was redundantly repetative and that worked my one last nerve.
but, yay for me, yay for me.......i'm reading the eragon/eldest omnibus now.......finally, something i can sink my teeth into.
have a blessed thanksgiving, my friend.

i have not yet read georgette heyer, but she is on my list. I have an odd quirk where i like to read everything written by one author at a time - especially those who write series. Do you recommend moving her up on my list?

Hi HBee! I was wondering if you'd share with me why you gave Jo Beverley's "A Lady's Secret" only two stars. I'm debating on whether to read it or not. Thanks
