My favourite book genres are thrillers, history fiction, mystery and sci-fi, as well as a little romance, young adult and children's literature too. I've found reading pretty effortless with my life schedule so I get plenty of time to dig into a good book from Amazon. The problem I have is looking for a really good adult/young adult book... I'm sick of scenarios that *need* a touch of violence or brutality to move the story forward more naturally and strengthen the characters. A prissy method to resolve the solution is used instead, and I find that soft and ultimately boring.
The book that got me into reading was Harry Potter. Must have been my 3rd or 4th year of primary school when someone gave me the first 4 books as a gift and I've never stopped reading after that. I like to read any sort of fictitious novel, as long as it’s lengthy and the writing technique is smart and organised. Not that I don’t have an imagination, but I’ve read some books that hardly describe some key people, places or events, so a page (nothing more, and never repeated… ever. I’m looking at you “Twilight”) of intricate adjectives wouldn’t hurt in a book either. I usually read the newspaper on a daily basis, and I’ve managed a small collection of informative computer magazines.
My reading abilities are pretty strong. I’ve been reading literature since I was 8 years old so I’ve build up quite a vocabulary. My reading speed is quicker than average and even quicker when I read the book the second time (I usually skim the descriptions the second iteration round). I’m able to complete quite large full length books within a day at a time.
I go to the University of Wollongong, Australia and I'm working on graduating with a Bachelor in Internet Science and Technology. I study C++ programming and some other theory subjects (management, marketing, internet tech). I'm in my first year of Uni, loving every moment of it. I’m in the works in creating a public website to strut my CV and student work.
