hi, hazelle. no problem, people are more important than books--even if we don't feel like they are sometimes. i'm thinking when we could get together with the other makati flippers. are you free on friday night? i can ask blooey, marie, adi, peter, and oel if they're interested in chikkahan over coffee.... though, the way i feel now, i wish it would be over vodka (work-related stress)... :P

The venue changes, I'm afraid, and depends on the decision of the moderator for the month. next discussion is probably on October 23 (to be confirmed); the venue is TBA. Whether in Makati or QC or Manila, I hope you can make it in the next book discussion. We'd love to see a new face and hear a new voice. =D

hi Hazelle....Always good to hear from you ,too. I'll have to add that to my list. I've been pre-occupied with other things last couple of weeks, so The Audacity of courage is waiting to be picked up. i'll llet you know what I think of it even though politics & religion are usually taboo. Did you notice that a movie is being made of The Lovely Bones?

I just finished Nelson DeMille's Wildfire. I'm a big fan of his writing style. My favorite was The Lion's Game ....couldn't put it down. Have you read any of his? Since you like the classics...have you read The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck or Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck. I like to read non-fiction in between other novels, too. I'm planning on reading President Obama's The Audacity of Hope next. Good hearing back from you, Hazelle. Happy reading! Justine
