Hi Harvey, Noticed you are reading The Twelfth Iman. I would love for you to let me know what you think of it and not just in the star rating!!!I have this one on my Kindle. Apparently, this book is the first in a trilogy.

    How have you been mate?

Those are some great authors/pastors. I read voraciously, and I am very fortunate to receive books for free from several blog review programs. I select books from the publishers, read them, write and post a review on my blog, amazon.com, etc. and I get to keep the book. It is a win/win for both parties!

While I read multiple books at a time, I usually don't read fiction. There are times when I grab a book that is fiction and read it, but it is usually few and far between. The books I read most often are those for sermon prep. I try to develop a preaching schedule for each year, and then I begin to gather those resources that will help me in study and prep for those sermons.

You can review some of my book reviews to get an idea of what I read on my blog (http://pastorricky99.blogspot.com). Are you on facebook? I tend to facebook much more than I shelfari. Anyhow, hope you and your family have a great Christmas! Chat with you later... Ricky

I have used it for at least 10 years (or more). I just received the ESV translation with his study notes. The ESV is my choice for personal reading. I haven't used it yet, but I am sure the notes are as good as though.

Harve- There is a third book to the "Heaven and Hell" series that will be coming out November 1st.
It is called "Rise of the Beast". Love the first 2 books...the first better than second...but can't wait to read this third one!

You will also need to read the one after this called The War in Heaven: The Chronicle of Abaddon the Destroyer (Tears of Heaven). These two form the Tears of Heaven series. Not sure if the author plans a third. Have not heard anything in this regard. I have these two in Kindle format.

I point this out to you as you have this uncanny ability to start a book without knowing whether it is in a series or not or in what order it is!! I hate seeing you get lost in all this!! You make me laugh mate!! The two books I recommended to you were:

The New World Order and the Eugenics Wars: A Christian Perspective by Andrew Hoffman

The Islamic Antichrist: The Shocking Truth about the Real Nature of the Beast by Joel Richardson

I am reading the latter at the moment. You need to get these two.

Harvey, I was half serious when I stirred you about your reading material!! I have read a few of Baldacci but not of Flynn. I would have continued with Baldacci if I did not have so many Christian fiction books to read. I will confess to you that since buying the Kindle, I have about 4 non Christian fiction books to read!! I fully understand about your concerns regarding your country's push to the far left, liberal, secular, anti-Christian, anti-Jewish, pro-Muslim agenda. We are getting to this stage slowly too. I reckon it will become a global attitude and behaviour on all levels.

The book I recommended to you is right up there with what you have written and I have just commented on. Would recommend this highly.

Keep considering the Kindle Harvey!! I have not looked back. You can also download the Kindle software for your computer and buy, download Kindle books to this and your iPhone or Android phone. I have all three and you can have all your books on all devices and all synced together so you have the same bookmark on all of them.

Drop me a line sometime, no hurry.

    Regards,

Hi Harvey. Thanks for responding. I know what you mean about the feel of books. I still love them too, the feel of them and their individuality. However, I am running out of book space here and this new digital format is a great saving space and so much more convenient. I have decided I will buy all my non fiction Christian reference books in paper book format and my Christian fiction and non fiction in Kindle or electronic format. I decided this as the reference books I would need to share with others and I have no-one to share my fiction books with so this suits me well. I am waiting patiently for you to get the Flynn and Baldacchi phase out of your system and return to your first love, spiritual warfare. LOL, love stirring you up mate!!

Hi Harvey, I recently bought a Kindle from Amazon.com. Electronic reader. http://www.amazon.com/Kindle-Wireless-Reader-3G-Wifi-Graphite/dp/B002FQJT3Q/ref=amb_link_353643122_5?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-1&pf_rd_r=1FQFQ2DVHW2DFDJYTFVK&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1275266302&pf_rd_i=507846

I was thinking that this would be good for you as you can hold 3,500 books and you would have them all with you in one device and that would be beneficial for you not having to carry alot of books around with you on your trips. I love it. Very impressive device. Not saying you should only buy the Kindle as there are many types of e-readers, including the iPad which also can be used for this, amoungst other things. It might be worth checking out.

Let me know how you are doing.

I am glad you are enjoying the Chronicles of the Host. I loved them and they seem to stand out against any other series or standalone book of the same topic. I refer to others such as the The Chronicles of Philos of which Origins is the sole book so far and a recent acquisition called The Angelic Wars: War of the Angels. Yes, I can also favourably compare them to Edward's Chronicles of Heaven as you have stated.

Sad to hear about Tim Down's new book. It did get good reviews though but it all comes down to individual taste and likeness of the subject, writing style, plot, character portrayal etc.

Hey by the way, I have you on Facebook and we have chatted before on there!!

Have you read any Robert Liparulo? He's at the top of my list right now.

I'm more of a crime fiction reader than a fantasy reader. That's why I chose the Dekker book that I read...they were crime ridden.

I'll put the Terri Blackstock on my TRL. Thx.

You are reading Book 2 of the Chronicles of the Host. Have you read Book 1? I only say this as you have a history of reading books in a series out of their order and you know how that puts me in a spin!!! LOL. Please erase my stress on this by telling me you have read book 1? Hope you are doing well in all other areas mate! Catch up soon.

Harvey, You have the same problem as I do regarding having to buy Christian Fiction? I thought Christian Fiction could be obtained from your Libraries? I knwo they would not have all Christian Fiction books but from listening to others here from America, they seem to be able to borrow from there. We just don't have that here. The only exception is those books of Christian Fiction that have reached the best seller lists outside of the Christian bestseller lists such as Ted Dekker (some of his) and the Left Behind Series.

Brian Shafer would be a good author to start with to answer your question. I presume you mean his Chronicles of the Host series? Loved it!! I reckon you will too! I only wrote a review on a few of the books in this series! Ran out of time for the remaining.

Harvey, I have read 2 or Baldacchi's books and am hooked but I have too many to read so have not followed up on all his others. As you know, I buy my Christian fiction as we don't have them in our libraries here so secular authors are not my priority despite some of them worth following.
Fully understand how life is busy for both of us and yes it would be nice to chat again. I agree with you about Gene Edwards books. He is a very talented author. Hey guess what? Shelfari admin has asked me to become an Editor!! I have accepted but I know so little about what to do! I can see a learning curve approaching! Miss you mate! Catch up soon,
