“An absorbing book. To someone who has not lived in the USA and not completely aware of the social pressures on the blacks and with little knowledge of the lives of villagers deep in Africa this was an eye opener.
A great story well narrated. I read the whole book in one go, did not put down my kindle until I had finished.
Where the slaved forced into living they way they did by their Masters or did they carry on with their way of living even after coming into a new country as slaves?
Sofia a strong character who refuses to be pushed around and Celie the teller of the tale, Shug Avery, Mr????, Harpo help the author weave a tale that cannot be easily forgotten.
Are her other books as good as this?”
