Hi Haley! I really like your blog so you're welcome! ;) Yeah I agree. Tumblr is for beautiful photos and maybe some short ideas to share right. Though I'm keeping both :)

Thanks for that recommendation Haley, I'll give it a go. And, no worries, I'm quite open to a variety of content, including the sexual kind. :-)
Probably what bothers me most in reading is if the novel has a good degree of gratuitous violence. Movies are even worse that way, for me. I just don't see the point of it, and I come away with strong images in my mind of people suffering and I really don't need that. There is enough of the real suffering in the world, not to have to make some up. See also for a criticism I would have of Larsen's Millenial series, now the "The Girl Who ..." movie series out of Sweden. After seeing the first, I'm going to miss the rest of those, thank you!
Anyway, sorry about the little sermon there but it is nice to chat books....
    best,
    Jay

Hello Haley, thanks for the friend add. Good to be in touch.
I am reading now David Mitchell's Thousand Autumns of Jacob De Zoet. It was slow to get into but I am enjoying it now, half-through. Do you like David Mitchell?
I've heard a lot of people reading Murakami - is there a good one to start with, for a newbie, you think?
    best,

I'm really sorry for taking so long to get back at you! It isn't me in the photo though, it's a swedish model, Mona Johannesson. I do have a similar haircut, only not that short atm. That's what you get when you have to save money for holiday = no haircut. ;) x

I know you've already posted and we are recently all friendly like, but I had to say welcome to the Pop Culture Junkies Group where anything pop culture goes. Feel free to add any books to our bookshelf, start a discussion or take part in more of the discussions already happening. Every Monday we do a week in review, talk about our favorite films and TV shows we saw that week, recommend new music, and anything else we liked that weekend. Tuesdays are new release day for most pop culture stuff so I try to put up a list. Wednesday is our top five question which has ranged from our favorite fictional restaurant to eat at to top five superpowers. Of course beyond that we talk a bit about everything. Glad to know that there are other pop culture geeks out there. Good to have you.

We have 54 books in common but some of those are some of my favorites. You have a great little eclectic shelf. Reminds me of my own. I think I found some more books to pile onto my to be read pile.
