I really enjoyed this novel. It had such realistic characters and the story-line had me turning the pages like a fiend trying to see what would happen next. The drama was nicely nuanced and layered. I loved how Day portrayed the hero and heroine slowly moving from acquaintances to friends to lovers. It was a wonderful read, a must read! I have her first novel in my many , many stakes of un-read books. I plan to pull it out soon because Zuri Day can certainly weave a great story!

She's done it again! This book was full of drama and intrigue and kept me up late at night trying to finish it. I didn't think she would be able to make Cynthia likable after the first two books, but she did it. She made Cynthia not only likable but lovable. And Samuel? Oh. My. God. What a man, what a man, what a mighty good man! I think he is my favorite hero of the Heart Series, so far. He was strong, protective and fine! I loved how he cared for Cynthia and protected her. And I loved the interactions between him and his brother, Joshua. Now that is a man I'd like to see get his own book soon... hint, hint... He has such an air of mystery around him and I can't wait to find out more. I'm looking forward for whatever Ms. Bolling hits us with next. I know it'll be good. If you haven't checked out this series yet, you don't know what you're missing! The Heart Series is a must read and Look Into My Heart just took the series to another level. Somebody needs to make this series into a black cast soap opera. I'd watch it everyday.

I have a short story in this collection, "Papi's Baby Girl." The stories are hot, especially the stories by Kaia Danielle and KD King. Great collection of erotic works.

I really enjoyed this novel. Iris Bolling has a true gift for weaving a story that pulls you right in and refuses to let you go. I got so caught up in JD and Tracy's story and the drama that surrounds them that I tried to stay up all night finishing the book. There is never a dull moment in this novel. Well done, Ms. Bolling!

Stunning! This book was an amazing read! I found myself laughing out loud, shedding a few tears, and always rooting for this group of people to make it. The story kind of reminds me of the lyrics from India Arie's song... "when old people start talking to young people, we'll be a better people." There were so many things about this book that I loved. I loved the kids. I loved the elders. I loved the folks who were willing to give of them selves to offer these children a home. I loved the way the "Big Sister Upstairs" was working through the novel, using Bernadine to spread blessing all over the place... striking down fools who tried to get in the way of the blessing... Man, talk about no weapon formed against me! Wow! You can't tell me it wasn't the "Big Sister Upstairs" who handled the banker and the judge. LOL. What I loved most about this book was it left me thinking about all the ways one person can make a difference whether she has "Oprah money" or not... This book is a must read!

  • The Law of Desire (Kimani Romance)
    • Rated 5 stars

Here’s what the critics are saying so far:

Gwyneth Bolton delivers another awe-inspiring tale to her HIGHTOWER HONORS series. I’ve fallen a little more in love with these men and this series in general with each new book that’s been released. The Hightower family is so honorable and good-natured that you just can’t help but adore each of them. THE LAW OF DESIRE captivated me from the very first page because of Minerva’s drive to make a respectable life for herself. She’s grown up loved and protected but her brother’s gang affiliation really puts her at risk. Ms. Bolton doesn’t pull any punches with this storyline. It’s full of passion, heated arguments, laugh out loud funny scenes and several heartbreaking moments that brought tears to my eyes. Exactly the sort of tale I’ve come to admire from this talented author.
~ Chrissy Dionne, Romance Junkies, 5 Blue Ribbons

Gwyneth Bolton presents with her greatest Hightower thus far. In the 3rd book of this series, Ms. Bolton entertains her readers with a solid and satisfying story which only serves to prove why she is praised as being a master of her craft… Readers will be front and center as this authentic romance captures the heart and demands your attention as Ms. Bolton guides you through a well crafted novel of love and suspense. After reading three of the 4 stories of this series, I am convinced that the Hightower’s are the new first family of African American Romance.
~ Eleanor Shields, Black Butterfly Review, 5 Flutters

THE LAW OF DESIRE, by far, is Ms. Bolton’s best Hightower story. The connection between these characters is hypnotic. They are as different as night and day, but they compliment each other very well. Minerva is younger and definitely will keep Lawrence energized. Lawrence no doubt can teach Minerva a thing or two.
The plot connects well to the characters and it flowed beautifully. I had a hard time putting THE LAW OF DESIRE down… The love scenes were explosive and Lawrence definitely knew how to satisfy a woman… Ms. Bolton did an excellent job and I definitely recommend reading this book.
~ Keren Childers, Romance In Color, 4++ Stars

The third book in the Hightower Honors series, Gwyneth Bolton 's The Law of Desire, is a story of triumph over despair. At 26, Minerva Athena "Thena" Jones is sucked back into her past when her gang-banger brother is murdered. She heads to Paterson , N.J. , where she stays with reformed drug dealers. To fit in, Thena transforms into a "video vixen" with wild-colored hair extensions. When cop Lawrence Hightower meets "Minnie," he's sure she's up to no good. But when someone tries to abduct her, Lawrence takes her to his family's cabin in the Poconos. There, they get to know one another and realize that neither is what the other thought.

  • Make It Hot (Kimani Romance)
    • Rated 5 stars

Here’s what critics are saying about this novel:

“Gwyneth Bolton certainly doesn’t skimp on the heat level in her newest release MAKE IT HOT. Samantha and Joel have spirited natures and seem to take great delight in antagonizing each other. They’re a fun couple to read about and kept me smiling through each ‘confrontation.’ Samantha’s relationship with her mother really struck a chord with me. So many people choose alcohol to dull their pain of loss never realizing the devastation it causes their loved ones. There’s plenty of action, fun, and emotional context to ensure readers’ become immersed in this storyline and remain enchanted through to the end. The Hightower brothers are honorable, loyal men who make a girl dream of finding her own hero.” ~ Chrissy Dionne of Romance Junkies, 5 Blue Ribbons

“Bolton combines the sexy allure of the Hightower family with the determination of Samantha Dash. Samantha turns her sad past into a promising future as she learns to forgive and finally embrace the idea of new relationships. Joel learns how to enjoy life while opening his heart to others. The supporting cast of characters adds humor and drama to the storyline. MAKE IT HOT is a fast paced, easy to read romance that will make you talk out loud to the characters (Aunt Sophie especially) and remind you why family gatherings are so enjoyable. Hopefully, Bolton will keep supplying us with loving stories of the Hightower’s for years to come.” ~ Monique Bruner “The Delta Reviewer” of The Real Page Turners, 5 Stars

“MAKE IT HOT will make you feel the heat between Joel and Samantha as their relationship goes from patient/client, friends to lovers. As their relationship developed, both characters were forced to make drastic decisions about their careers and about themselves. I enjoyed the first book and found this one to be twice as entertaining. This is a series that should not be passed over and I eagerly wait to read the next story.” ~ Priscilla C. Johnson, APOOO Book Club, 4.5 Stars

“A tough hero, a sassy heroine and a great story of triumph over adversity in MAKE IT HOT, by Gwyneth Bolton. When firefighter Joel Hightower is severely injured on the job, he discovers just how much his career means to him. As part of a family of firefighters and police officers, he cannot fathom doing anything else. Physical therapist Samantha Dash works hard to assist her patients while dealing with her own personal drama. Guilt inflicted by her alcoholic mother concerning her own police officer father's death has caused her to shy away from men with dangerous jobs. When Joel is assigned to Samantha, he's a bitter, grouchy man. Can they overcome their obstacles to be together?” ~ Debbie Sims, Romantic Times Book Review, 4 Stars

The way this author was able to craft a tale that both broke my heart and renewed my spirit is nothing short of amazing. The language of this novel as Price-Thompson takes us from the red-clay of Alabama to the Motherland in Kenya is so riveting... The prose is beautiful and rugged at the same time. This is a novel that should be taught in college Literature classrooms across the country. It deals with so many issues from prostitution to female genital mutilation. I know I plan to teach it in my Women's Studies courses and it will always be one of my favorites. Well done, Ms. Price-Thompson, well done!

Amazing! This novel is absolutely amazing! The characterization is so crisp and the plot is so engaging I could not put it down. I love the way GiGi Gunn drew me into the world of this character-driven novel. The characters are all unique and have quirks and flaws that make them real. The side characters add depth and flesh out the story nicely. This author has written a truly captivating enduring love story. I loved the fact that Aiden had loved Sassy from afar from the first moment he saw her. And the speech that he gives her at the end when he proclaims his love...my goodness my heart just exploded and tears came to my eyes as I read it. This novel is a must read for folks looking for a great love story. I can't wait to read more from this very talented author.
