Ex-Navy SEAL Wyatt Kennedy is in deep deep cover on his current mission as a roughneck out in the middle of the ocean. He's so deep undercover, in fact that almost everyone at ACRO besides his boss believes he's dead. But Wyatt is far from dead once Faith Black walks into his life in her black leather and speaking in her sexily stilted British accent.

Faith is the leader of her own agency and on a mission of her own, that to recover the deadly weather machine from Itor. She has an in at the evil agency, a former lover and childhood friend now in charge of making sure the weather machine works it's damaging wonders. Faith's mission is in direct conflict with Wyatt's for Wyatt has been ordered to destroy the weather machine, not retrieve it. But the life of someone very near and dear to Faith hangs in the balance and despite her feelings for Wyatt, she will not let anything stand in the way of her saving this important person from her past.

Once again, great characters, great suspense, exciting subplots, hot sex, and lots of twists and turns to keep the reader poised on the edge of her seat!

In this second book of the ACRO series, we meet Kira Donovan a woman on the run and in hiding who has a very unique relationship with animals and is a bit unique herself. For a few weeks out of the year she goes into heat and when this happens, almost any man will do to cure her instiable hunger.

Tom Knight is an exedosapien sent on a mission from ACRO to bring Kira in for her own good and to keep her out of the hands of the evil Itor agency. By the time he arrives on the farm under the cover of being a farmhand, it is almost too late for an agent from ACRO's nemesis has already made contact with Kira and is ready to move in for the kill.

Full of twists and turns and Croft's trademark action, eroticism , humor and suspense, this is an excellent addition to the ACRO series.

Gorgeous and dangerous, Remy Begnaud is an ex-Navy SEAL who has a gift that he never asked for and one he finds hard to control. He can control a storm, a power that many would kill or die to possess. But his gift comes at the price of his sanity and libido; it is connected to his sex drive and if and when he decides to have sex can actually drive a storm...or not.

Haley Holmes is a dedicated parameteorologist who has mommy and daddy issues and a need to prove her independence. Unlike most employed by ACRO (Agency of Covert Rare Operatives) Haley doesn't have any special psychic gifts, but she doesn't need them to Convince Remy to join her agency. She has a fated connection to the erotically exciting man, one that could save or kill the both of them.

Great characters, lots of hot erotic sex, and exciting suspense, this is a wonderful start to a new paranormal series. I eagerly look forward to more!

The natural-born daugher of two vampires, Lady Daniela is a rarity and considered aristocracy in the vampire world. Still, there are those in her circle who would like nothing better than to see her fall and take away everything she owns. When a brutal territory overlord steps over the line to take Dani out of the equation Dani receives help from the most unlilkely of sources and begins her quest to decide whether or not to take a fully marked servant or not.

Devlin, a handsome and sexy bushman is a drifter who prefers his own company rather than that of other humans. He lives in the bush for months at a time, feeling safe among nature and unwilling to engender any family ties after the violent deaths of his wife and son. Meeting Lady Daniela, however, changes his feelings and world view--changes everything. Meeting Dani gives him new purpose and a reason to live than just nurturing his rage and revenge.

This is another emotional, erotic and exciting story in Hill's vampire series and I loved it!

Maya Hughes is still healing from her divorce. Her ex hurt her badly when he intimated that she was less than a woman because she couldn't have kids and that it wasn't HIS problem, because he had a child from another relationship.

A game techie who works from home and comes from a large, loving protective family, Maya is strong and a fighter and doesn't let much keep her down. One day on her way home from the market in the pouring rain, she notices her new neighbor's little girl sitting on the front porch alone. With her natural maternal instincts going into overdrive, Maya decides to investigate and what she finds out will turn her orderly world and still-healing emotions inside out and upside down.

Seven year old Taylor Whitfield never knew her mother, has been told by her father that her mother died after childbirth. She longs for nothing more than the loving touch of a mother and Maya with her patience and caring fits the bill perfectly.

Dr. Nic Whitfield hasn't played the dating game in a very long time. He's doing a little healing of his own from his loss of Taylor's Mom and besides, Taylor is the most important thing in his life now. He considers taking care of his little girl and making her happy his most important job...until Maya comes along.

Sensitively and realistically written, this was an excellent story of three people healing from the losses in their lives and using each other to help along the process. None are perfect, but together they come as close as possible to being perfect for each other.

I enjoyed the story and the characters very much.

Desiree Diamond is an African American paralegal from a mostly loving and supporting family—except when it comes to her engagement to aspiring, freelance photographer Travis. Most of her family and friends don’t think Travis is right for her and that if he really loved her it wouldn't be taking him so long to commit and marry her. Finally seeing the light and that her friends and family are right and Travis is just stringing her along because it’s comfortable and not just because he’s waiting to establish his career or is taking care of his widowed mother and handicapped sister, Desiree broaches the subject one evening with him. Feeling pushed into a corner, Travis ensures that the discussion turns into an argument and shouting match that ends in Desiree breaking things off with him and kicking him out of her apartment. Though she knows it's for the best, Desiree is devastated. It's hard getting over someone she's been with for so long. She has to admit, that she felt comfortable too. Now she's terrified of being single again and wading out into the dating pool.

Divorced with two kids, Tyler Banks is the new kid lawyer on the block at Buchanan and Buchanan. Brought in for his talent and expertise, his first assignment is a high-profile sexual harassment case that promises to bring in a large fee if Tyler can win the case. To ensure this end, the partners of the firm have assigned one of their most talented and skilled paralegals to work with him exclusively for the duration of the case: Desiree Diamond.

The pair work well together, but more importantly, they enjoy each other’s company and respect each other. However, when enjoyment and respect gradually turn into something more intimate, both Desiree and Tyler have to come to terms with how or if they are going to handle things and whether they want to take their relationship a step further than professional.

The major conflict in the book deals with the racial differences between Desiree and Tyler, which I suppose is okay for an interracial romance, but I didn’t want to be hit over the head constantly and reminded that the couple was interracial the way I was with this book. Too, the dialogue tended to come off as preachy and didactic rather than natural and witty.

This was a pleasant read with likable and sympathetic characters with good chemistry but it missed out on being something more using the interracial theme as more of a crutch than an enhancement. Otherwise, I enjoyed it.

Packs a lot of story and character into a few pages. If you're not sure about trying the Midnight Warriors series from where this short story is spawned, this Amazon Short is a perfect, low-risk way to feel out the territory. I did, and I wasn't sorry. Now I am a bonafide fan of the series.”

L.A. cop turned vampire, Maya Black has a mean score to settle with vampires, not to mention the other assorted low-lifes that make up the underworld, both human and supernatural beings alike. Abused as a child and raised in the foster system for most of her life before her drug-addicted mother finally succumbed to her disease, Maya has been taking care of herself for a long time and doesn't need or want anyone in her life--or so she thinks.

Enter the mysterious Adam Brody, a bit of an independent and lonely soul himself who wouldn't seek out the assistance of the beautiful vampire hunter if he didn't have to. You see, Adam's niece Cammie has been kidnapped by a bunch of blood-thirsty vampires and the only way to find them and his niece is through Maya. But Adam is hiding some secrets in his past that could make him a formidable enemy or ally. Question is, which will he be to Maya?

Maya has a blood link with the powerful Born vampire, Nassor and his call to her has been getting stronger and stronger with each passing day. When Adam hires her to find Cammie, Maya uses her link to track down the girl and against her better judgment, takes Adam along for the ride.

Though Maya and Adam have some serious trust issues between them, they manage to make a good partnership when it comes to hunting and an even better partnership when it comes to sex. But can sex be enough for a man who has an aversion to vampires and a vampire who has an aversion to emotional commitment?

This was a fun and exicting ride with a kick-ass but vulnerable heroine and dark, sexy, more-than-meets the eye hero in Adam who was Maya's match in every way. Great read!

Boy, it's been a long time since I've read a Dean Koontz book, at least ten years and after reading this one, I can kind of see why. Not that it was bad, far from it, but that Intensity was, well, too intense (pun intended). I think I must have needed a break after the last Koontz book if it was anything like this. He really gets deep into the psyche of his characters and in this book it serves to give the reader a bird's eye view into the mind of a methodical and sociopathic serial killer in Edgler Foreman Vess.

Chyna Shephard, a college student with an abusive past seems like she's way overmatched by comparison but her survivor skills and will to live prove more than a match for the calculating Vess. Add to this her need for redemption and desire to bury the demons in her past and you have the makings for an epic showdown between two formidable combatants with the life of a mysterious young woman hanging in the balance.

Sometimes the pages of descrption and narrative went a little long for me, but the pay-off by book's end make all the wading worthwhile.

This was an excellently-written thriller with a powerful and multi-layered protagonist at its center.

Gracie Brice is a talented soccer player and the daughter of a soon-to-be billionaire genius and geek father and a successful attorney mother with some serious anger issues. When Gracie is kidnapped after a soccer game, it sets the wheels in motion for long-buried secrets to be revealed and the destruction of a family already on the precipice of failure.

Enter Ben Brice, a haunted Vietnam vet living in the wilds of Mexico drinking his life away when he isn't building furniture for the rich and famous. Ben and Gracie have a bond that cannot be broken. Though the same cannot be said for his estranged genius son John, Ben does not let his relationship with his wife and son interfere with his coming to Texas when Gracie is taken.

Though the mysterious kidnappers lead the FBI on a merry chase with false clues and planted evidence, Ben is not fooled and when he realizes that the kidnappers may be tied to a long-ago past that he has tried to forget, he knows it is more important than ever that he find Gracie as soon as possible. The FBI may have closed the case and given Gracie up for dead, but Ben never will.

This was an excellent, fast paced story with complex characterizations and enough secrets and thrills to fill two books!
