Ha, thanks. I figured I should be a bit more familiar with the "further reading" section of HBs. As for the rest... fodder for some other writing projects.
Yes! I'm just about 100 pages in. So far an interesting read, though Wright does make a few assumptions with little or no justification. But that's evolutionary psychology for you. Specifically that morality exists because of religion, and that morality follows religion in progress. I think a brief look at the 20th century provides plenty of evidence to the contrary. Or consider our animal cousins that seem to have a basic rule to social order. Granted he does back down from it a little after the chiefdom section, but I don't think the origin of morality is as tied to near human culture, especially religion, as he seems to suggest. Like I said, so far a very interesting and engaging read.
Really, I blame my recent discovery of kindle ebooks (that I actually want to read) from the BPL for procrastinating on IJ.
Alright, I'm doubling down on Colonel Roosevelt. Then maybe back to IJ. Maybe...
I'm a bit surprised you rated "No god but God" so high considering your complaints about all the excuses/apologies.
Looks like some of your read books are missing page info... Looks like I found something for you todo next time you want to procrastinate (so Monday at 9 AM).
Unfortunately, I haven't yet. Might just settle for a trip to the library, then donate the other volumes to Delta Airlines at a later date!?
