Hi Knittingcurmudgeon -
Thank you so much for adding my book The Movement: A Children's Story for Grown-ups to your shelf! I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it. Please stop by Amazon and leave a review, if you would. I would greatly appreciate it! Feel free to visit my website @ www.uncarvedbooks.com and say, 'Hi!'
As you liked my Captain Shoelace books I thought you might like to know that I have a book of short stories that will be available for free download on 17-18 December.
The book is:- Chicken Lababdar: and eight other stories
I see that you have not logged on for a while, so you may miss this I suspect, but hopefully not.
Hi remember Captain Shoelace?
As you liked my first two books, I thought I'd let you know that the last book in the trilogy is available on Kindle from today.
It is called 'CAPTAIN SHOELACE Secrets'
If you do read it, I'd love to get your comments.
All the best.
I see you've downloaded Harriet, and hope she has given you pleasure. I've got one or two more things - both children and adult - which I shall be putting on Kindle in due course. If you like, I'll send you review copies (tho' if you didn't enjoy Harriet this may not be something you'd welcome).
PS Once canoed down a river up your way - days blazing hot with 90 degrees, and we woke up to frost over everything. Midsummer in Upper MI!
Thanks for adding The God Complex. If you've had a chance to read it, your review on Amazon would be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions about the book, I'm running a Q&A Session on Book Club Reading List (http://bookclubreading.com) that ends May 4th.
YES! A bad review can reduce this writer to tears- for hours! Luckily, I get comfort from some of my author friends who point out that even "the great ones" get bad reviews, every now and then.
I'd love to send your copy, please let me know where to send it : )
I'm new to this site- just finished my profile. I noticed that you had my book, 'The Dolls'. I was embarrassed to find that I missed some typo's- it was pointed out in an unflattering review : ( I wanted to let you know that I have since revised and professionally edited the book. I completely changed the ending and I think it's much better! I would love to send you a complimentary copy, if you would like. Please let me know : )
Thanks & take care,
Madman in the Mirror.
A MOST IMAGINATIVE AND BRILLIANT BOOK ... Richard S. Friedman
A highly engrossing tale, "Madman in the Mirror" is a story about a man - Henry Johnson - who is raised by a psychopath and forced to watch - even as a baby - his father murder people on a regular basis. He is also abused and brainwashed, turning him into a sociopath. Henry stalks and murders people efficiently - he tells himself that he may be a killer, but he doesn't want people to suffer. He is haunted by hallucinations, including a specter in his mirror that talks to him.
I love that you relate to the journey! I love it when people don't just stick with whatever job is at hand and nearly ROT inside for decades. All the while putting their "real dreams" aside. And yes, I get the raise the kids factor; I do. I just wish more people didn't settle...THANK YOU for reading (and enjoying). Hope it tickled you pink.
