Welcome to the train, where tributes can socialize on their way to the Capitol. Get to know your fellow tributes- and maybe make some allies while you're at it. Or, if you want to fly solo, you can. You only have as long as we are still filling all the positions to meet and greet! Basically, use this time wisely. Remember, tributes, gamemakers, mentors, and stylists will be on the train- therefore they are the ones who can talk here.
We have two tributes. Don't get all gung-ho already. :)
Well still... they can still talk right? Maybe they wanna be allies! You never know!
Alexia: I sit on a bench next to a big table full of food, eating the corn muffins. Who knew they could be so good?
That is MAHOGANY!!! lol gotta love Effie...Anyway sorry for interrupting, carry on......
A Gamemaker may have a job, but right now Elarra was checking out the tributes this year. Seeing one tribute eating muffins, the white-haired lady came over, leather black boots hitting the trains wooden floor sharply.
"You must be one of the tributes!" Elarra forced a smile. She sat down across from Alexia. "I'm one of the Gamemakers. You must be that girl, Alexia. What District are you from again?"
Alexia: "District 4," I say. I hope I don't sound scared.
Elarra finally truly grinned. Now she was getting somewhere. "So, are you a strong swimmer? You must of had to do it a lot in district 4.
Alexa:A girl catches my eye and I walk over to her, where she was talking to a Gamemaker.
Elarra heard steps and held her foot out just enough to trip the girl.
Alexia: "Yes, I was the second best swimmer in my class"
Good. Even if I'm not interested in revenge, if she makes me mad I have a way to get back at her. Elarra grinned, the young adult gamemaker sitting there in a black sweater, twinkly black short skirt, black leather boots, and a red bow sticking out against the blacks and whites of her clothes and skin. "Well, I'm sure thats very good against some of the tributes that haven't learned without any water to swim IN."
Alexia: This person is scarring me. "Yeah, I heard that in some places there's barely enough water to drink, much less swim in."
The girl looked scared. Elarra pretended to frown. "Sometimes I wish the Capitol could be kind and send them some water, let alone food."
Alexia: I relax a little, the lady shares my views. "Yeah, it's so sad. I mean, more people die of starvation a year in each district then there are tributes a year"
"I've heard most of the tributes died of starvation, or would have without intervention to force a fight. But thats not the point." Elarra smiled. "I will be working as a mentor if we don't have anyone for any of the districts. Do you know of anyone in YOUR district that survived the hunger games?"
Alexia: "There are quite a few, as my district is considered a "career" district, District 4. But they've all been mentors for several years and are getting tired of it
Elarra laughed a bit. "But careers get tired for no one. Am I right?"
Alexia: "I think they're getting tired of watching their tributes die. But maybe only a little tired,"
Elarra winks. "Thats the spirit. Now, remember, never stop fighting for anyone." And, with that, shes of, leaving behind a golden coin.
Alexia: I pick up the gold coin and examine it. It has a picture of a strange dud with a pony tail
Matilda:I sit down at a table and drink some water. Later I will probably get some food, but right now I am not very hungry.
Christina:I walk around unsure of what to do. I didn't think I will come and become a tribute for even once in my life. I never thought I will be in a situation like this. Huh, I want to run out and go back to my family's arms. Well.... I guess that is once when I am in heaven. Maybe I should make some friends so I won't feel so bad. Maybe I should.
I walk down to a table where a girl is sitting at, I then say "Hi! My name is Christina, Christina Lillac from District 11. You?" smiling widely and sweetly
Matilda:I look up and say, "I'm Matilda from District 5."
Christina:"Hi Matilda" I say kind of nervous if she will be mean to me, but it looks like she won't. I then say "Matilda, can I ask you.... About how you got reaped? Or came here?" sitting next to her whispering. I then take a muffin and start eating it while looking at Matilda.
Matilda:"Well," I say, thinking back to it, "I was standing in the crowd, really hoping they wouldn't pick me, I've got to take care of my little brother and sister, but... she did. I was taken off to the Justice Building, and my family visited with me. Then I was taken to the train. It's not really a shock they picked me. My name was in their 37 times. What about you? Unless... you don't want to talk about it."
Christina:"Well... I volunteered for my sister. And... I thought I had to protect her, besides we promised that if one gets chosen the other one must volunteer.So... that's how I came here. Hey Matilda, can.... can we work together during the HG? I don't want to be alone all by myself" I say saying the truth. I feel really scared whenever I am alone. I need a partner, to make me feel better.
Matilda:An alliance? I never anticipated it. I always thought it would be safer being alone, but this girl doesn't look like the type to kill me in my sleep. In fact, she looks... frightened. "All right," I say.
Christina:I then say "Thanks! And Matilda... just telling you that... I am not the one that kills you during your sleep or so. And I didn't do this to get allies" I say saying the truth. Why will someone want to cheat someone else during the games? Only the scaredy people do. Don't they?
Matilda:"Okay thanks," I say. That reassures me.
Christina:"So... when do you think we will get "there"?", I say leaning back on my chair just staring at Matilda. I feel happy that she isn't the type that thinks I am cruel or so, because if she does then I guess.... I will absolutely have no friends at all when others think I have plenty of... what was that called? Oh yeah, "allies"?
Matilda:"Probably in a few hours," I say.
Christina:"Oh" I say feeling bored. I guess I should keep quiet for a while. Maybe she doesn't like talking much. Maybe... I should just shut up. So I just stare at her and feel bored.
Alexa:I stand by a table, arms folded, trying to look deadly
Keena:"Hi." I say, glancing over the brim of my juice cup. "You're from District One, I'm Two, so I figured that you're about as strong as me. Wanna be allies?"
Alexa:"Sure..." I say, studying her, trying to remember her name. "Keena?" I ask, thinking that was right.
Keena:"Yeah. And you are?" I raise an eyebrow, flicking back my high ponytail.
Alexa:"Alexa," I say. "Not to be confused with Alexia over there." I say, nodding my head over to where Alexia was still talking to that stupid Gamemaker.
Keena:I smirk and glance over, my copper-colored eyes deadly. "She's definitely going to gather some persuasive skills if she wants to get in our pack. Sucking up to a Gamemaker."
Alexa:"I know." I say. "Have you seen anybody who's good enough yet?"
Keena:I snort. "Maybe, but not good enough to actually acknowledge."
*She's very mean. :D*
Alexa:I stare at her, thinking she would be a good ally and a bad enemy.
*So I figured :D*
Keena:I shrug. "Whatever. But anyways, what are some of your talents that could come in handy?"
Alexa:I smile. "I'm the best at swimming, running, and fighting. I can perfectly use almost every weapon."
Keena:"Well, that's good. I can as well, I'm just not a good swimmer."
Alexa:"I taught myself how to swim after my dreadful uncle threw me into a deep river when I was little."
Keena:My copper eyes soften, but not to the point of being sincere. "That's bad. But, hey, you're still here, and you can swim."
Alexa:"Yeah," I say, staring into space, thinking about that day when Uncle Larry threw me in the river. he was arrested for possession of marijuna a few weeks later. Thinking about Larry, I started thinking of home, and I frowned. "District Four'd probably be better, though.... Aren't they fishing?"
Keena:"Yeah. I just hope the arena will not involve swimming. But I'd find an alternative, I guess."
LydiaI wander down the train, this portion seemingly empty. I hum a quiet melody, trying to calm my nerves. However, that doesn't do much good at first. My voice seems to echo around. But it comes to a point where it becomes a game to see how far I can get my voice to travel. When I begin to hear other voices ahead of me, I instantly shut up and continue down to the voices.
Christina:While talking to Matilda, I tell her to wait for me a second and then I run to a... rather interesting girl. I then say "Hi! My name is Christina, what is your name? By the way I am from 11, District 11" smiling and taking her hands shaking it hardly. This girl will be fun to make friends with, I like her!
LydiaI'm slightly taken aback by Christina's boldness, but I smile warmly. "I'm Lydia from District ten," I tell the girl.
Christina:"Hi Lydia, wow. District 10 and 11 together. Hey, can we be friends?" I say smiling, absolutely NOT wanting to betray or cheat or kill her. She looks like a good girl.
LydiaMy head screams at me to say no. Friends can be dangerous - what happens if it comes down to just friends in the very end? One will die, the other will forever be scarred. But she looks sincere... and to be honest, I think I need a friend right now. "Of course," I tell Christina with a smile.
Christina:"Thanks" I say, I then say "But I have no promise that I can keep you alive in the arena, because I guess I won't even be able to protect myself!" giving a wink to her.
LydiaI laugh quietly. "Well... how about we work together but fend for ourselves unless it's a life or death situation?" I sugest with a smile.
Christina:"Good Idea! So can I ask things about what you are good at and what weapons you can or like to use?" I ask
LydiaI think for a moment before saying, "I suppose I'm quick and coordinated... and I'm decent with a bow and some arrows...." I offer. "What about you?" I ask.
Christina:"Cool! Me too! I love using bows and arrows, but I am flexible with other weapons too!" I say smiling, I then say "I feel kind of nervous, about the games" with a sly grin
LydiaI look at Christina seriously. "Nervous doesn't even to begin to explain how I feel." Disguisted, hatred, fear, defiance....
i board the train and look around. Two girls in particular catch my eye. Slowly, shyly, I walk over to them. "Hi, do you mind if I join you?" I ask. These girls seem friendly, and I don't like the look of one or two of the other tributes. The question is, will they accept me. They look like they're already pretty good friends, and I don't know if there's room left for me. I smile nervously at them and wait for them to reply
LydiaI turn slightly when someone else walks up to us. I smile and say, "Of course you can join us." Then I add, "Hi - my name is Lydia."
Christina:"I am Christina" I say while smiling
Erina:"Thanks" I say, smiling at them, my shyness melting away at their friendliness. "I'm Erina. Im from district 8, textiles. Although, I never was quite the person for that sort of thing. My skills don't seem to lie within that department" I say wryly
Christina:"Wow, that is cool! And I am from district 11! Heehee"
LydiaI'd rather work with fabric and such then with cows.... I think, but I say nothing out loud. "I come from Ten... we work with all the livestock..."
"Cool, I like district 11." I see from Lydia's expression, and the pauses, as if she's refraining from saying something, that she doesn't really like district 10. "You don't enjoy working with livestock?"
Lydia"It's... alright. I don't mean to complain," I tell Erina sincerely. "My job specifically is to pick the best cattle from the herds, then to breed them. It isn't my choice position... but it's okay."
Christina:"It's good, I like any kind of things actually. I just have to get money! So anyone hungry?" I ask while pulling them to the biggest room on the train. Where you get a plate and can get all kinds of foods on it. Royal. Wonderful!
LydiaJust at seeing the food my stomach growls loudly. I laugh quietly.
Erina:"A little bit hungry, are we." I say to Lydia jokingly. She's certainly not the only one. I haven't eaten since early this morning, and am famished. I grab a plate and start to pile food on it.
LydiaI follow Erina's lead, snatching up a plate. However, I'm careful with what I load up. If I eat too much, too fast.... well, it won't end well...
Alexia: After scary Elarra goes away, I eat some more food and try and forget it.
Sammie:I walk onto the train, only somewhat proud to be here. Truthfully, I would still rather be back home, reading books and inventing my stuff. I sigh, knowing that will never happen. There seems to be many people already here, so I perk up, trying to look strong, and strut into the dining room, grabbing a muffin.
We are approaching our destination. The train will arrive on July 20th.
