Niara♔
"Mother, why do we live out here?" I asked my mother as we continued to walk.
She cradled my baby sister in her arms, the baby wrapped tightly in clothes. The wind out here will send a chill up your spine.
She sighed, gentally rocking the baby. I noticed dark bags under her eyes from lack of sleep, the baby had kept us all up at night with it's constant crying. Well, except for my younger brother, he slept like a rock. Little jerk...
I hated life out in the corners of the kingdom. The land was virtually deserted because it was a grey and dry, nothing could grow out here. Weeds, could barely grow out here! So, everybody moved in to where plants could grow.
Apparently, my parents and a few, few, others moved out here. Basically we where alone.
"Because sweetie, me and your father don't like the rule in the kingdom. Since there is nowhere really else to go, we decided to head out here, far from the rule." She answered, taking care in her words.
"But nothing is out here! Thats why the rule isn't strong!" I exclaimed.
"We know, but trust me darling, being under control by a bad leader is a lot worse then living out here." She said gentally.
"WHAT!?! How could anything be worse!!?!" I exclaimed gesturing to the empty land around me. I folded my arms and pouted.
"Now dear-"
"NOW WHAT!?! THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE!!!" I yelled at her. I can't stand that woman sometimes! Always remaining calm and nice.
She had flinched back, shock on her face.
"Niara!" A sharp voice shouted.
I turn around, it was my father. He was angery at me, I could tell by his face.
"Yes, father?" I asked nervously.
"Do not yell at your mother! It was our choice to move out here, and we stand by it. You cannot change that!" He told me strictly.
"But!"
"No 'buts'! You cannot change our choice. Now get moving!" He yelled at me.
I scowled and slumped my shoulders. I stomped off a head, not wanting to be around them anymore, dust blew up around my feet.
How could they move out here!?! Did they even think about how this would effect their family!?! I can't believe them!
Thunder boomed behind us, I quickly turned around. A strange, small black cloud traveled behind us in the sky.
"What a strange cloud..." My mother whispered.
"Woah! Was that red lighting?" My brother asked, just after what seemed to be just that dash through the cloud.
"Come on, lets find some shelter before it catched up to us." My father said. My mother nodded in agreement.
We picked up the pace and walked a little faster, until we found a mound in the ground right next to a dead tree.
"Cool, a tree!" My brother exclaimed, andran towards it.
"Be careful, dear!" My mother warned him.
My father walked up to the tree and searched the little area for any creatures, before declaring it safe. My brother climbed the tree, dead black bark falling off by his feet. My mother sat on a rock caring for the baby, while my father started to build a shelter. I stood apart from them, watching the little black cloud, wind blowing my hair back behind me.
"Come" Something hissed.
My eyes widdened and I quickly turned around to look back at my family. None of them seemed to have said it, or heard it.
"Kuru" A voice hissed.
I flinched and looked back at the cloud. A flash of red lightning dashed through it, and in a flash I swore, I saw a snickering face. I looked back at my family, they where all busy with something. A grin rose to my lips and I slowly walked towards the cloud. When I was a few yards away and they still hadn't noticed anything, I ran to the cloud leaving dust behind me.
