Hey there! My name is CC. I just stumbled upon this great group, and I see some of my friends here too! Cool!
I LOVE my public library. Wish I could work there. I never (almost never) buy books, but I go to the library on a regular weekly basis.
I LOVE my library's on-line catalog, where I find fantastic books. If my library doesn't have it, I can usually find it through the InterLibrary Loan System. I read around 200 books a year, and I especially love reading the old ones that my library still has. I love history, bios/autobios, memoirs, travel, art, non-fiction on a wide variety of subjects, with a bit of fiction, poetry, plays, and essays thrown in.
I LOVE my hometown librarians. They know me quite well, since it's my third summer there (as well as my third year on Shelfari). Before that, I didn't read very much --- now I'm seldom seen without a book in hand. Several of the librarians are very interested in my reading. They say most people go for the new books, up front, but I always head for the stacks when I come in. I've brought to light quite a few old treasures they never knew were back there.
I think it's great to have a group for people who love libraries, so thanks for letting me in.
