  • Chapter Ten:

    Save Changes Cancel

    Juliet:

Once I get back to my room. I change back into my nightgown and pretend I had been sleeping. Rose walks in and wakes me up.
“Good Morning miss, how did you sleep?”
“I slept fairly well.” I lie rubbing my eyes.
“Well that is good, miss, your mother suggested you wear your pink flower dress, is that okay miss?”
“That is wonderful,” I say getting out of bed and letting Rose help me get ready for the day that I was dreading.
Once I am all set I walk downstairs, Rose walking behind me. Today we apparently had to go try on wedding dresses. I would rather die than try a wedding dress on. Even though Jacob was my friend I didn’t see him as the marrying type. I had to do something about this…especially since I had feeling for a different man, one who I wasn’t marrying and was considered “scum” in my mother’s eyes.
“Juliet, what is the matter, why are you staring off into space?” my mother said in an annoying tone.
“What? Oh I was just thinking…” I say “about the wedding and everything…”
“Oh okay, what about the wedding? Is there something wrong with the plans?”
“No, everything is fine…let’s go pick out the dress…” I say walking to the door.
“Okay, the carriage is out front.” She says grabbing her bag.
We get into the carriage, a few minutes later we arrive at the shop filled with what looks like millions of wedding dresses. Right away my mother takes charge. She goes to the far corner of the store and begins looking at the dresses. I am still stuck at the other side of the store.
“Juliet! Get your butt over here now! I think I found the perfect dress for you!” She says in excitement.
I trudge over to her and look at the dress. It had lace on the arms and chest area. Then it flowed down and ended at the waist area. http://www.1stweddingplanner.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/wedding-dresses-with-lace-sleeves-3.jpg
“It is nice.” I say quietly.
“Great we’ll get this one.” She says and walks over to the lady and asks for the dress. When they get it in the carriage, my mother decides to go the flower shop and look for different arrangements of flowers.
“I’ll be over by the jewelry stand.” I say
“Great! I’ll be over there in a few minutes I just have to find the perfect flowers to compliment the dress.” She replies. I could tell she was happy I was getting married. I walked toward the jewelry stand hoping to see Drew somewhere. A few minutes pass and my mother finds me.
“I thought you were going to be by the jewelry stand?” She says angry. “We are going home now, I found all of the necessary things.” She grabs my arm and pulls me to the carriage. Once we are in the carriage she starts talking about the set-up of the wedding and all that. I tune her out and look out the window wishing I could have seen Drew.
