Chapter: Nine: Drew
She runs over. Inside I am boiling with anger. I sat under this tree and missed dinner. Nannie was going to shoot me. Seriously shoot me.
“Drew! I am so terribly sorry!” she says, “My mother and Count Kalliovski were planning the wedding and everything was so overwhelming and the next thing I know I was in my bed. Jacob told me that I fainted,” she says
I look at her, “Juliet, it’s okay, just calm down,” I say “I want to give you something I got at the market today.”
She stops and looks at me, the moonlight shining in her hair. I stand up and look at her.
“Hold your wrist out,” I say.
She looks at me confused, but holds her wrist out anyway. I slipped the golden bracelet with the diamond heart onto her then let go. She examined the bracelet.
“Drew! This must have cost you a fortune!” she said amazed.
“Do you like it?” I ask
“Do I like it? Drew, It’s wonderful!” she exclaims then looks up at me. I look at her. Her eyes were sparkling with happiness. Then I lean and kiss her cheek. She looks at me with a surprised look on her face.
“What was that?” she asked.
I look at her and gave her a crooked smile. “I don’t know,” I say still grinning like a freaking fool.
“Oh,” she said laughing “You missed”
“What?” I asked confused.
“You missed,” she said again. I gave her another confused look, then before I realized it her lips were touching mine. At first I was surprised, then I really decided to kiss her. A few seconds later she pulled away, blushing.
“Sorry,” she said
“Don’t be I wasn’t expecting it, but I kind of wanted to…” I say trying to explain my feelings. “You know what I’m just going to stop talking now,” I say blushing more than she was.
Juliet laughs, “It’s okay, I don’t make any sense either,” she says giggling. The sun starts to come up, she looks at me then back at the lake.
“Is it really morning?” she asks. I nod.
“Oh my gosh! I a…I have to go!” she says suddenly standing. “Thank you for a wonderful time and for the bracelet,” she says then leans over and kisses me. I kiss her back passionately not wanting this moment to end. “I’ll see you later,” she says then runs away.
“I love you,” I say softly wishing I could tell her how I feel. Suddenly I heard rustling in the bushes behind me. I turn around and see a young women standing there. She looked pale, white and very familiar.
