Thanks to modern science, every newborn has become a ticking time bomb- males only live to age twenty-five, and females only live to age twenty. In this bleak landscape, young girls are kidnapped and forced into polygamous marriages to keep the population from dying out.
When sixteen-year-old Rhine Ellery is taken by the Gatherers to become a bride, she enters a world of wealth and privilege. Despite her husband Linden's genuine love for her, and tenuous trust among her sister wives, Rhine has one purpose: to escape--to find her twin brother and go home.
But Rhine has more to contend with than losing her freedom. Linden's eccentric father is bend on finding an antidote to the genetic virus that is getting closer to taking his son, even if it means collecting corpses in order to test his experiments. Chemical Garden Trilogy: Book 2
    Fever
    by Lauren DeStefano

Rhine and Gabriel have escaped the mansion, but they’re still in danger. Outside, they find a world even more disquieting than the one they left behind. Determined to get to Manhattan and to find Rhine’s twin brother Rowan, the two press forward, amidst threats of being captured again . . . or worse.
The road they are on is long and perilous—and in a world where young women only live to age 20 and men die at age 25, time is precious. In this sequel to Lauren DeStefano’s harrowing Wither, Rhine must decide if freedom is worth the price—now that she has more to lose than ever.

Still waiting on my hold for Fever. As far as Wither goes, I really did enjoy it. I didn't think I would, it's not a book I would normally pick up. I did like the writing style, but it did take me a while to get used to it. With plots like these, I'm usually a bit more uncomfortable while reading but it wasn't quite so terrible as I thought it might be. I liked how the characters each had their own vivd personalities, I was afraid they might be alittle bland, but they weren't. I'm going to have to put a much more in depth review on my blog... I am anxious to read the sequel and wish my hold would hurry up and get here!!! :)

    Wither - four stars

    Review:

This book starts out with so much intensity that I compared it to the 'Hunger Games' trilogy. I was so excited after reading the first chapter I was turning page after page at lightning speeds. But at around chapter 4 things started to slow down and unfortanitaly it just seemed to fizzle until the very end. It was a very intresting concept and I hope that the next book in the series pick up the pace a bit.

    I haven't gotten Fever yet.

    Fever- three stars

    Review:

This series has a very intresting concept but I feel like the plot and characters are lacking a bit and holding the whole story back.
