  Fred's secret notes for the next generation of Revenants

  Being the only Revenant, Fred can't really tell much to the others about his visions and the spirit's directions.
  So he decides to write everything down and hide the notebook in the catacombs.

  Years ago, vampires hunted a specific sort of their kind, the Revenants. It is said that no one survived. Do I believe so?
  Yes. The way the spirits referred to me, like I am the only one to bear their prophesies, indicate so.
  I really hope they are wrong, so I could talk to someone about this, but they never seemed to be mistaken.
  A burden is heavier when you can’t share it. Not even with my soul mate. How is this possible? Whatever I am, she is, and whatever she is, I am proud to be.
  The instructions were clear though. No one can know, not even Scar, she who used to carry the spirits inside her.
  “She was a temporary vessel.” they told me. “Now she is just like the rest of the vampires, who are unable to tap into the spirit’s realm.
  I cannot talk but I shall record everything for the next Revenants to know.
  I will hide it here, so only those guided by the spirits would find it.

  I left my body for the first time today.
  Until now, I only saw some spirits that appeared to me. Today I entered their world.
  Ghosts are like humans and vampires. Some want to help while others only care to harm.
  The Revenants hid me in their shadows.
  They are actually the only spirits that look like shadows and have gray to black color.
  The others have a more humane shape and glow instead of shadow. Also they vary from shades of light gray to silver, although I could swear I saw some white and golden figures.
  Angels? Saints? Very good people?
  Or maybe nothing like that at all.
  After all, Revenants are dark but not evil. It is just the madness of their lives that made them so.
  But they are on our side and they are willing to help.

  Am I supposed to make more vampires in order to carry on my bloodlines?
  I don’t feel comfortable with the thought. I will do anything that is necessary however.
  I still remember how River took my life force along with my blood. Then she replaced it with her own, both blood and life force.

  A vampire’s sire isn’t something abstract. Vampires will always carry a part of their makers inside them.
  This is why it is easy for a sire to influence a vampire they had turned, because of this connection.
  Basically, the part the two vampires share is what urges the younger one do his maker’s will.
  In the fear of sounding naïve, this process, and generally the whole existence of vampires, is magic.

  It’s sick what happened today.
  We let go of Vanessa’s sire, Erin, and she ended up dead.
  And we are left with even more questions, even more hidden enemies.
  My deepest fear is to see River dead; I want nothing more but to take her away from this.
  We can’t leave. People, vampires mostly and humans too, only they don’t know it, need us.

  We can be sure of nothing.
  Every chosen has one deed to do before the war.
  Scar did hers. She brought my kind back to existence.
  Now she has another quest, something the spirits hadn’t foreseen.
  She was supposed to release the Fiery Rage during the war but with the Seven Deadly Sins playing with her, this is impossible.
  She already left for Italy.
  Things changed, they move faster now. This can only means one thing.
  The tenth chosen must be found soon and the rest of us have to accomplish our part.

  I’ve been asking myself how vampires were created but it appears that the correct question is: “How humans did came to existence?”

  According to the myth, thousands of years before, among the dinosaurs, walked the first immortals. They didn’t need anything to survive, only darkness.
  One day, a vampire was punished by one of the wise, the Revenants.
  She was condemned to be weaker than the rest of them. Her name was Lilith.
  A male vampire, who was in love with her, was drawn by her blood and he bit her.
  He told the others about the tasty blood and Lilith was drained. But before she died, she put a curse upon the vampires. They had to drink blood to survive.
  Vampires fed on other species but nothing was equal to human blood. Thus, Revenants turned two vampires into humans and the woman gave birth to more.
  Their names will be remembered forever. They were Adam and Eve.

  *Sorry if this is insulting to someone's religion but it is just a story.*

  I am proud to be a Revenant.
  Trips to the spirit realm can be painful but I don’t mind. I have role to play, vampires to guide.
  I have almost found what the chosen have to do in order to win this war.
  A war against necromancers, possessed vampires and legions of zombies.
  We will need much more than luck, especially since we are dead too.
  I would have prayed if I believed…

  As soon as I made sure River would be fine, and the sun was set, I ran to take the notebook.
  We’re going to the council and I need to record everything.
  The war is coming and we have to find our weapons.

  I have been away from spirit world for so long that I started hallucinating.
  I think I have glimpses of the war coming and something else too. So horrific I don’t dare to record it.
  I looked at my beautiful girl but she was different, a vicious fighter. Then everything was normal.
  I looked at Andy, pale and sad, but why would he?
  I saw ashes where Scar should have been.
  I looked at Hesperus and regretted it…
  I don’t trust them. I’m getting paranoid, insane. I need this to be over.
