well Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan HATE us, and if they get nukes, there's a good chance that they can attack America killing you and me
Wow. Well, here's a reason we care if Iran has nukes:If North Korea, Pakistan, India, Israel, ect. all have nukes, we REALLY don't want one more country to have them. When one country nukes another country, everyone nukes everybody else and we're all screwed. I agree with GracieGirl: right now, America is NOT in a good position with Iran, Afghanistan, and Iraq, considering we invaded their countries and started a nine-year war. Someone's eventually going to nuke us; it's just a matter of when. (I hope it's not in my lifetime!)
True to that fact, or facts I should say
Lizzie and Gracie I agree they hate us but should we bomb them or help Israel bomb them to take out their nukes? The old Soviet Union (Russia) hated us and we never attacked them to take out their nukes.
No one should bomb anyone; that would just start a horrible chain reaction.
Russia would just bomb us back. The one thing i don't get about atom bombs is that how can cutting an atom in half make an explosion?
Although its called fission ,you dont cut an atom in half. Its just that in an nuclear reaction, mass is not completely conserved and some of it gets converted to energy, following einstein's famous equation; E=m c^2.Also not every atom bomb is a nuclear fission. There can be fusion bombs as well, but to realise it we need tremendous amount of energy,so we use energy from fission to realise energy for fusion which produces even more energy. The problem with fusion is we havent been able to control it fully so in nuclear power plants fission is done and not fusion.
Simply because Russia did not attack in the past is no reason to believe that our new enemies would deal us the same favour. It would be like having faith that because three years ago my sister didn't steal my cookie means that today my friend won't steal it. We simply had different priorities at that time, and that would account for the reason why we never did invade (among other sizable factors of course, one of which Grace did mention). And if we help Israel, they may very easily see through our rouse and strike us as the true conspirators we would be. And that is not a chance I believe our government would be willing to take. Would be quite the leap of faith wouldn't you say?
I believe that if America can have hundreds of the nukes, Iran should be able to have some. People say that Iran can't have any because they are "violent" and "unstable" and "may attack countries without a second thought", but as far as I've seen, America seems the exact same way. America is as unstable a country as any.
So if one country can have nukes, why can't another?
To the contrary, if you're going to prohibit nukes to one country, prohibit them ALL. No one should be in possession of such dangerous weapons that have the capability to destroy entire nations.
I don't see the reasoning as to why we need to ban nuclear weapons. Even the most insane of extremists would know that any nuclear bomb that is launched will destroy the entire earth. Even if America didn't know about the bomb before it hit, we would still have the capability to retaliate, so any attack on us just beings about mutually-assured destruction. No human being would consider that the best option.
