I'm writing a paper on this for Language Arts and would like to hear other opinions.
I'm for uniforms because if your school's uniform is:
Boys- White or navy polo/dress shirt, black, navy, or dark gray trousers, black shoes, navy tie if wanted.
Girls- White or navy polo/blouse, black, navy, or dark gray skirt/trousers, black shoes.
Or something of the like.
All you need is about 4 pairs of pants(3 pairs of pants and 2 skirts for girls), about 6 shirts, and a pair or 2 of shoes. That costs a whole lot less then brand new designer brand clothing, and $150 already-ripped jeans, and 5 pairs of shoes, maybe not that less expensive then a few pairs of jeans and some t-shirts though.
I read a few articles on this and in Britain, almost every single school has uniforms, and the students have a noticeably better attitude and more responsibility, and are more polite then the schools that don't have uniforms, which are regular, everyday public schools much like American schools. Most people think uniforms are for snotty rich schools or schools full of kids that can't afford regular clothing. That's not true, almost half the schools in America that do have uniforms are regular public schools full of middle class Americans.
