I think that killing humans just strait out is different then killing people with the death penalty. The death penalty is within the law, and is a punishment, and murder is against the law.

Well, hunting animals is a sport, a mean sport, but still a sport. Maybe its illegal *other than death penalty* because humans actually give something to society, and animals...are usually just like house dogs/cats or deer that live in the forest (Not including search/watch/bomb squad dogs), but you can get a hefty fine for torturing and or killing a dog, if caught. Wait, why cant you get a fine for killing deer, but you can get one for animal abuse?

I wish I knew why. People think it's okay to kill animals, like deer, as a SPORT, but it's not okay to kill humans or even house pets.

How come "wild" animals can be killed but it's horrendous if you kill a dog or a cat?

Pets, dogs and cats, are considered in blunt terms as possessions worth money and time. The penalty for animal cruelty is because people would repel if the person who was being cruel towards the animal gave them money. That's my opinion..

I think that killing humans and killing animals is completley different. I think that killing an animal is different because they are not as evolved (I know that we don't know the following for sure, but it is what I think), and their thought patterns are not as complicated thus they are inferior. And the world was made so that we could kill animals and eat them. The whole way that the world functions depends on us (the preditor) killing the animals (the prey). It is the simple way of life, the food chain. Killing animals to make them into decorations though is different, that I think is wrong and should not be done.

Disagreed. We're different from animals, that's why we kill them and think we're inferior. Animals were NOT made for us to eat, and the fact that you could even think about thinking that enrages me.

Animals weren't 'made for' anything. They just are, just like us. And they have evolved just as long as us, we have evolved in a certain direction (large brain) and they in another, but in evolution there is no ranking other than the fitness to your environment.

They do help us live but there are other alternatives. And when you kill something, you put it in immense amount of pain. That's proven. They have emotions and thoughts. Maybe they're not as developed, but so is a baby at like 5 weeks in the womb. They do benefit us but they were not put here for our convenience. Wouldn't have God just made a giant meat vending machine or something, or a plant that provides all vitamins and protein and all the things necessary for life.

Why are humans more significant! I know you've said so, but humans kill, rape, abuse, steal, cheat, lie and murder each other for seemingly no reason. Animals exhibit none of these, really, except maybe murder and thievery, but that's to survive or protect themselves.

    Circle of Life.

Humans are animals as well (mammals). Carnivorous animals kill and eat other animals, just not their own species (except in the case of territory or mates). However, Humans CAN survive without eating animals and their products. Killing Humans is illegal because it is our own species and we have a higher level of cognitive thought than animals.

The reason as far as I see it is because we ourselves are animals. We have an instinct for self preservation. So we, in our higher cognitive state, created laws based on not wiping our species out. Then we created nuclear weapons. Go figure.

    1) Humans did not come first, animals did. Even if you are talking about creation when Adam and Eve were sent to the garden of Eden there were already plants and animals.
    2) There are laws against murdering humans because we can create laws and animals can't.
    3) Animals follow mother nature's laws so they don't need human laws. That is why dolphins are always laughing at us...they know how crazy we are.
