It starts with the smell. Just smelling it cook makes me nauseous. It just goes down hill from there for me.

      Hi Everyone,

I first had Black Pudding in Dunedin New Zealand. My first husband 's mother served it once and asked me if I liked it. I did not want to offend her so, i said that I did. From than on everytime we visited, my mother in law cooked black pudding especially for me. I did not want to be rude, so I ate it. I miss my dear Florence. I tried Haggis years ago, again in Dunedin. The Prince of Wales Hotel had a haggis night with bag pipes and all. I thnk it was nicely cooked with some spices that made it taste quite palatable, However, I had haggis at the masonic lodge a couple of months ago and I did not like it at all. Now in the case of tripe, my father loved tripe. I have never tried it, but it does not look too appetising to me. Sorry dad.

I can't say that I like Liver either. But, my dad had a wonderful way of cooking liver and it tasted quite good. I only ate liver when dad used to cook it. I won't tell you what effect cabbage has on me when i eat it. I will spare you. Arrivederci, Silvana

      What is Black Pudding?

Hi Kesley, Black pudding also called blood pudding is a sausage made of blood. I am not 100% sure if it is pig blood or cattle blood. Anyway, the blood is cooked with a filler until it is thick enough to congeal when cooled. English people Typically eat blood pudding for breakfast. My mother in law used to slice the sausages and pan fry it. Ciao, Silvana

    I'm with you, Silvana!

    1. Anything fatty-textured (like tripe and haggis)
    2. soft cheeses (ricotta, mozzarella, cottage cheese)
    3. tenpura! I used to love it, but then I had some bad tenpura and now even the thought of it makes me ill!

Do you like brie? Because it's soft but it doesn't have a grainy texture like some of the others you mentioned. One of my absolute favorite things in the world is a toasted baguette spread with some brie and strawberry jam. Mmmmmmm....

I hate cottage cheese too BTW. I've tried to make myself eat it because it's such a good protein source but I just can't.

I'm not really big on cheese in general. It is all too slimy for me! (I won't eat yogurt either)
But some cheese has really good flavor, so I tolerate it in small quantities on crackers and thinks. I wish I liked it!
I've never thought about putting brie with jam though. My parents are Wisconsinites, so they naturally love cheese and brie is one of their favourites. They'll probably have it for a treat around the holidays, so I'll be sure to try it out with jam then!

Hi Kelsey, i love cheese, especially fetta cheese, the danish one. But, there are some cheeses that I taste and smell like my sons dirty socks. Yuuuh! There are some very nice cheeses with rum, or wine and fruits inside it and they are delicious. Yum.

Hi Kesley, The danish feta cheese is much smoother , moist and tasty without being too over powering.

Number one thing I hate: meat, particularly beef and pork. I like them in something else, such as cottage pie or maybe a little prosciutto with melon but I just don't feel the need to sit down and eat a big ol' hunk of steak. And I've even tried steak at top restaurants like Mortons, Smith & Wollensky, etc. but it's just not my thing. Luckily fatty animal protein isn't all that great for you and cows (methane, anyone?) are a growing threat to the environment, so I'm not missing out. Imagine if I hated vegetables!

Hi guys! As we get older, it is not healthy to have too much meat anyway. I like a nicely cooked steak once in a while, but I don't eat meat that much anymore. I don't like pork, but again it all depends how it is cooked. For example, i like pork with plum sauce. I have been eating a lot of vegeterian food lately.

I'm glad someone agrees with me! In the US we have such a meat-eating culture that when I tell people I don't like it they think I'm crazy. I think they're crazing for caring about what someone else likes to eat!

I have to agree with you too I really don't like the smell or taste of red meat and I don't like regular milk and would never drink milk until I discovered organic milk. It taste much better and does not leave an after taste.

an indian delicacy called puttu which can be had along with banana or with a curry. this is the commonest food on our breakfast table and all kids grow up forcing this down at least once or twice a week. it is made from rice powder and steamed. it's simple to make and tht goes to explain its breakfast popularity! i detest it and i don't know how to make it. no one believes if i tell them so.

Haggis is only good if it is cooked right. I had some just last month at a Oktoberfest it was wonderful. Make sure when you do try it you have some warm dark lager with it.

It's funny, a lot of the food I used to hate now I actually like such as sprouts, there's not much I hate anymore.

I've started to hate spinach, though it could be the way I cook it.

    Mushy peas

    Ravioli, with any filling.

Mint jelly. I had an amazing Aunt and Uncle - a chef and baker - professionals. They never had children and they weren't particularly amazing people, but they loved, loved, loved to cook. They would linvite my family of four to their house for a meal and cook all day and the results were always amazing.

    Except -

one time they made lamb (first time having lamb and loved it. I had been a vegetarian for years previous - just rejoined the meat eating group), and I loved their side dishes, but I took a huge chunk of the mint jelly that accompanied and.......can't even go on discussing.

    Hi Tyra,

I like roast lamb but, I do not like to have it with mint jelly, yet people always insist that Mint jelly goes very well with lamb. It probably does, but i like mine without.

I've recently seem lamb served with a side that has fresh mint leaves. There seem to be so many more fresh ways to include the mint.

    Hi Aileene,

Onions!...my daughter does not like onions. She has the habit of eating everything on the plate except the onions, which are usually piled up in the corner of the plate. I tend to cut the onions in very tiny pieces and she would need a magnifying glass to find them. Have agood weekend, Silvana
