I personally think the Lord of the Rings are perfect movies; romance, adventure, humor, fantasy. Though the flow of the books is much different I think the adaptations are great.

I really liked the movies but it was hard for me to go through the books. I was 11 at the time though, maybe if I try now it would be easier.

I did not read these until I was in my twenties...don't know if I could have when I was in my teens. Give it another shot, and if not, wait a few more years, maybe? Also LOVED the movies, and saw the first one before picking up the books.

I read each one right before the movie came out. The Fellowship WAS hard to get into, but then I got hooked.

Janelly!! OMG. The book is phenomenal. Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles are truly groundbreaking in the lore of the vampire legend. The first 3... Interview, Lestat & Queen of the Damned (Yes, that was a movie too)!

Yes, but Queen of the Damned was not at all the books. In any way, shape or form. Good for an entertainment movie though, just don't take it seriously. Which is why it's not on my list.

Yes, I found it particularly good even though I'm not a huge Brad Pitt nor Tom Cruise fan. Kirsten Dunst was an awesome Claudia though.

I think the Burton Alice in Wonderland comes out next year. Saw some publicity shots (soooo want to see it now), Helena Bonham Carter plays the Red Queen.
