'Ello! I'm Aimee. New to the group. Lately I have been on a paranormal romance kick. Although, I will read just about anything paranormal. Vamps and weres are just too much fun to pass up. I also like a good murder mystery. I live in the midwest in a small community where I have to go online to discuss books. I live in a desert climate, but hey, the desert is fun. I always carry a book with me when I travel, camp or go on vacation.

Hey, I'm Rani. I live on the outskirts of Seattle. I love Historical Romance, anything Irish or Scottish, and I love paranormals. It's funny, growing up, you couldn't get a book in my hand, then watching my oldest daughter get such a kick out of her books has caused them to be permanent fixtures in my greedy lil hands!

Hi, I'm Tina. I live in Vermont. I'm into all kinds of romance, lately I've just discovered contemporary. But no matter what, I always go back to paranormal, I love them. Harris, Hamilton, Handeland are great. I have yet to try Ward or Krinard...yet.;)

Also, I do have Kenyons but haven't read that series yet. I've pretty much been into Handeland and Harris lately. I really like Hamilton too but for no real reason set her aside for a bit, someday I'd like to reread her earlier Anita Blakes.

I'm really looking forward to reading the next 2 books in the Demonica series by Larissa Ione, the 2nd book in the Harper Connelly series by Charlaine Harris and Kushiel's Chosen by Jacqueline Carey.

I just switched over from Goodreads and am brand new to this site and group. I'm a mom of three, married 14 years, own a tattoo shop, and sell stuff on eBay & Craigslist. Needless to say, I keep busy. But I do love to read and pick up a book whenever I have a free moment. I typically read two or three books at once in different genres. I LOVE paranormal and historical romance. I admit I got hooked after reading the Twilight series and went on to the Sookie Stackhouse books. I just finished Outlander (time travel romance) which was just ok in my opinion.

    Hi All,

I am a working, wife of a soldier, mother of three. I live in Colorado Springs. I love reading-everything-except my husband's military books. I read about two books a week...more if i am on vacation or something. Lately I have been on a Paranormal kick. I started with Twilight...it was like a gateway drug...I LOVED the books, had no idea i liked vampires and werewolves and such...then I tried Anne Rice's Interview with a vampire and was underwhelmed. I read the Mortal Intruments series, they were really good...BUT! I AM A GROWN WOMAN...AND MY HUSBAND IS IN IRAQ...do you get what I am saying people! I found the sookie stackhouse series and that was it...I am hooked I love them! Any suggestions along the sookie series lines?

I pick up what you're laying down!! If you are looking for a good adult story *wink* there are several. The Night Huntress series, The Werecats series, both of which are in first person and include some romance. I recommend the Mercy Thompson books if you want a good vamp/were book but Briggs doesn't dish out any of the details in the romance department here. Black Dagger Brotherhood, Midnight Breed, Lords of the Under world are some good series, all of which are written in third person but each book centers around a different character.

But really... read Night Huntress... I can't get enough of Bones. He's yummy.

Wow that is exactly how I got started into paranormal romance. It took three different friends to convince me to even read Twilight (why should I read a teenie-bopper book I kept arguing). Glad I did though. After that, I was looking everywhere to get my "fix". I've read all the Sookie books and now I'm watching the Show (True Blood). I also read between 1 to 5 books in a week depending on what I've got going on and frankly, how good the book is.

Unllike Aimee, I haven't read Night Huntress yet, but I have just started the BDB books.

I've also written another series called "More Than Angels". Two books are available and I'm completing the third book. This series was Oprah's Book Club nominated and won the Indie Excellence Award for Best Fiction.

Book Readers Heaven is reviewing all the books in the series this month. Here's some of what was written regarding the 6th book in the series, as well as the series overall (Enjoy):::
      =============================
The Guardian by Ruby Moon-Houldson is the prequel to the Guardian series. It was written as the sixth book in the series, upon request/demand of the followers. Let me stop here, if I may, to add my own opinion of this series--I am thoroughly hooked!

When I read the More Than Angels books, I declared Moon-Houldson a must-read author. However, the Guardian series, in an entirely different genre, forces, yes, forces me to consider this author a Creative Genius! Book reviews cannot begin to describe the fascinating complexity, compelling storyline and sensuality of these stories. While based upon well-researched somehow familiar magical stories, each idea from Moon-Houldson is unique but totally interwoven into an intricate tale that becomes a reality into which readers invariably fall! Building suspense through character development and constantly more exciting and seemingly impossible challenges is almost magically done through brilliant writing! The Guardian series demands to be consumed!

    Hi All,

My name is Cindy AKA sportsmomwholuvs2read. I have been married for the past 16 years and have 3 wonderful children. My son travels all over the United States and Canada playing hockey and my daughter keeps me active in school and sport functions. My husbands oldest daughter blessed us with a grandson and we also have him full-time. To say the least....My life is CRAZY, so my books have become my way of relaxing and taking my own kind of "time out".

I am so excited to find a group of people who love the same books that I do. I have lots of friends whom read; but not Paranormal or Erotica, they can't understand why I love to read about werewolves, shifters, and vampires. So, I asked them "why not? they're much more fun and usually more interesting, definitely more lively (feral..lol).

I have several favorite authors but I would have to say Lora Leigh, Shelly Laurenston, and Lara Adrian top my list. I love to read books in series and have hundreds upon hundreds of books TBR.

I'm excited about this group and anxious to talk to people who have the same interests.

  • Jack Woodville L

    Jack Woodville L (edited)

    Hi Everyone,

Jack Woodville is a first time historical fiction writer. His first novel, French Letters: Virginia's War is the poignant novel of a small Texas town where, during WWII in 1944, there was a bit of tarnish on the patriotic bunting and not everyone was eager to join up for the fight. It was there one morning that an unexpectedly pregnant Virginia Sullivan read in her father s newspaper that she supposedly had eloped with a soldier. One who had already gone off to the war, an awkward thing, since he didn't know anything about it. This first book of the French Letters trilogy is the tale of one woman s home front experience folded into the story of a town that is happy for its war bride because of her family s generous dabbling in the black market of war rations, until the Government pokes into their affairs.

Hi there, I'm addicted to vampire romance and lately really good contemporary romance as well. It all started with Twilight and exploded from there! I'm loving Kresley Cole's Immortal After Dark Series, it's my absolute fave. Oh yeah, and i can't stop reading! It's an obsession that makes me very happy! And since i live in the Pacific Northwest i know all too well how i intend to spend the dark winter (that and avoiding the football which will undoubtedly overtake my tv in the coming months). I started reading vamps again in April of 2009 and i only wish i had found these books sooner! NOw i want to read it all! There are so many great stories, I was worried about how i would handle the time when True Blood ends and waiting for New Moon to arrive in the theaters and well, I think I've found my greatest hobby! Currently I'm reading the Shadowdwellers by Jacquelyn Frank and it's captivating!

Hey! I'm Rachel I just relocated to North Carolina and I've been getting myself deeper and deeper into the paranormal romance world! The only thing I'm afraid of is running out of stuff to read (please, please keep me supplied with suggestions!). I am so totally enamored with Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld series (I'm excited to read about Gideon and Paris, I just hope she doesn't keep me waiting forever!) and J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood. I've been checking them out at my local library and have read them all except for Lover Awakened. I am so dying to get my hands on this book! From what I hear, I'm not going to be disappointed. Zsadist sounds...well, we won't go there. And John Matthew...ahem...yeah. So if you've read these series and know about more like them, I would be eternally grateful!

After joining shelfari, one thing I've never had to worry about is running out of stuff to read. My TBR is so out of control.

I'll go take a look at your shelf and come up with some suggestions for you!

If anyone is looking for a real page turner, not to mention, some out of this world sex...then this is the book for you...You'll fall in love with the main characters...Check it out!!! I'm new to shelfari but I do have a huge shelf over at Good Reads(over a 1000 and growing :P) Well, what can I say? I absolutely adore books...romances to be more specific...I love happy endings & I absolutely refuse to read anything that doesn't guarantee one! My books have always been my best friends growing up...as an adult they provide even more of a support when I have the crummiest days....It's a sure thing that reading a good romance regardless of its sub-genre...will give me a definite boost!!! Hope to chat more later...ciao bellas

Hi everyone. I read everything, but my first and true love is paranormal/urban fantasy. Favorite authors are JR Ward, LKH, Christine Feehan, Nalini Singh, Gena Showalter, Marjorie Liu, Charlaine Harris, Patricia Briggs, Karen Marie Moning, Lora Leigh. Haven't tried Lara Adrian, Kresley Cole or Frost yet, but I hear they are awesome. I live in Denver, where the Rockies lost to Philly last night at midnight in 20 degree weather. :( LOL. Gotta love Colorado.

I love the mysteries from Harlequin in their spirit filled suspense series. Favorites are Lynn Bullock and Marta Perry

In their other spirit line I love Janet Tronstead her series The Sisters of the Dropped Stitches series about a group of young cancer survivors is a real DIK for me.

I buy all my Harlequins on eharlequin as they ship free and give you a nice discount plus no sales taxes on their lines.

I am Linda Hurst, I am a devout reader and also an online reviewer.

I am in my 60's and disabled luckily for me reading has always been able to take me out of 'my' world and put me in the Author's 'world' for a great escape.

I read all types of romance except for erotica. I also read the spiritually based mysteries from harlequin.

I also read a lot of cozy mysteries with women authors and woman detectives.

    My favorite authors are:

Jayne Ann Krentz (in all of her pen names)
    Julie Garwood
Diana Palmer (my guiltiest pleasure but I do love her alpha jackasses)
Susan Enoch (both contemporary and historic)
    Loretta Chase
    Marta Perry
Susan Mallery (I have acquired and am now plowing through her entire backlist)
    Maureen Child
    Jo Beverley
Elaine Viets (if you like cozy with an ongoing hero/heroine stories her Dead End Job mysteries are a real hoot)
    etc, etc, etc!

Well I guess you get the idea--I read a lot!! A book a day on average, I had always read a lot but when I became disabled three years ago it became a real lifeline for me. Thank the lord for my love of reading and the wonderful authors writing romance and mystery right now and getting lost in a book really help a lot.

I also have an online romance/mystery bookstore on Albris--my bookstore is Your Bookie. When I can't find anything immediately appealing in my huge tbrpile I 'shop' my store shelves!
