Saw New Moon today...just released........it was so damn amazing!!
I went with my best friend because she would never see the movies [Twilight was a blow enough for her] but she asked to come with us cuz I make a good movie ten times better apparently. Especially movies I get REALLY excited about. Excited is a very very strong term when it applies to me = when I think of dressing up as Alice or a vamp and walking around the mall handing out flyers on Team Edward...THAT is excitement. So anywho, I dressed in COMPLETE red today and we went to the mall to watch New Moon, first day first show, as it released today at 11 am.
I was shocked beyond wonder at what an amazing job Chris Weitz has done! I felt like burning Catherine Hardwicke at the stake for eliminating 3/4 of the fanbase with that slideshow of utter crap. Chris Weitz stuck SO WELL to the storyline and the action and romance was SO WELL DONE, I was shocked beyond words! The scene where he leaves her was absolutely stunningly sad, and I loved every bit of it. And then - oh Mary Mother of God! - Jacob! They did SUCH a good job on Jacob! His voice, his werewolfness, the scene where he leaves Bella like Edward left her was absolutely heartrndering! He has such a well tones body now with the most appealing face ever! His stylist is amazing too....just the look of him with set abs and gorgeous chest and that low-worn set of shorts that showed his underwear just a little bit and that awfully adorable hair just made my day. "Ash" I said to myself, "It's about time you change your celebrity crush." I've been in love with Pattinson since his Tess D'Ubervilles - his expression and sharp features are exceedingly expressionistic - but he looked dead in this movie. His eyes were weird. And abs....er, very hairy. ::Shudders::
The werewolf part of amazing! They did the cinematography and CGI perfectly! They looked more realistic than anythign I've seen - as is the sharp movement of Laurent and Victoria. Hats off to Chris Weitz for coordinating the storyline and their action so perfectly! Seeing it stick to the book so well, I couldn't help but smile in lush satisfaction. I was actually eating caramel popcorn with my friend and we'd finished the whole thingywhatsit, so I was using the empty container as a Hyperventilation Bag. I was shocked and so pleased!
My favourite character is now officially Aro! The Volturi were played so well! Aro had the perfect, stoic expression and the perfct maniacal look in his eyes. Caius looked gay and Marcus looked pained, so I guess it's safe to say that Aro is the best damn vamp there is! Haha, "Well well well....what do we do with you now?" Amazing line that was. And when he cackled, after 2 seconds, my friend and I started to laugh at his laugh and we couldn't stop. The humour, the seriousness, the freakishness was all displayed with amazing perfection. Jane! Hah, small part, but she is absolutely delightful....her innocence but danger, the expressions on her face...wow. As for the fight scene, I was enraptured in every bit of it. The speed, the fantasticality of it....the power and danger behind all of those moves....and the buffness of Dimitri is enough to make any movie-lover fall in love with those parts! They were STUNNING!
All in all, I loved the expressions and Chris Weitz's simple yet beautiful way of encasing the entire beauty of a book as complicated and amazing as New Moon into a movie which is to succeed a very crappy Twilight. This movie has widened the fanbase that Twilight itself lost and I am absolutely STUNNED, ASTONISHED - I am speechless. I thought that Jacob's character was bloody brilliant and he looked better than the paparazzi had claimed. Kristen Stewart cleaned up her act well and actually spoke in a varying tone! The Cullen family was portrayed brilliantly, especially Alice and EMMETT! and Jasper XD The wolf pack was incredibly hot (I do mean it in the tingling-girl-sense way) and the action was fantastic.
No compliment can cover the brilliance of New Moon. I can point out only one inconsistency (not a missed scene) -- Harry dies of a heart attack after Seth and Leah became wolves, not because of Victoria.
OH! And the last part.....WOW!!! WOW WOW! "Marry Me!" Haha......I wish! It was an expected yet good ending, what with Jacob and him fighting and Jake furring into a werewolf in midair (god, I'm an action freak now!)

Jacob: Bella! You're bleeding!
Bella: *touches head wound* Oh yeah....um it's nothing
Jacob: Wait *takes shirt off* *I swoon* *Dabs Bella's head wound*
Bella: *stares at his awesome body*
Jacob: *notices her gaze* What?
Bella: *Stunned* Jacob..........you're beautiful
*entire audience breaks up into hysterical laughter, mainly me and my bff*
Jacob: *looking at her like she's mental* How badly did you hit your head, again?
