Writing For All Ages

Hello,
Welcome to Writing For All Ages. Here you can write short stories and such. Maybe even novels. Share your stories and don't worry about how good at writing you are!

Rules:

~ If it gets any worse than PG-13 then you have to post it on the top so 0-10 year olds don't read it. That would be bad....

    Keeping On One Idea

    Save Changes Cancel
I've been trying to write books multiple times, but keep getting stuck on the idea and end up abandoning the story. Then, I get more seemingly brilliant ideas and start a new story.

I just want to finish the one I started in the first place, but don't know how!
Any help you guys could give me would be a lot of help!

I'm not sure if you're still following what you posted here, Emiaa, but I would suggest just writing as long as you can on the idea you're talking about.

Even if you have to jot down fragmented scenes and incomplete thoughts (e.g. there's an epic part where the hero/heroine escapes the villain by leaping over a mile-high waterfall, but somehow he/she gets hold of a rock outcropping or tree-branch, (whatever :P ) so he/she doesn't plummet to his/her death) . . . and yes, if that's what it takes at first, I mean be that vague.

Just get the ideas on paper and then begin to add dialogue and descriptive sentences/paragraphs once you know the essentials of what needs to happen :)
