The Challenged Reader's Next Reality Book Star -- 2nd Check In

It's time to post all those books you've completed since our last check in. This also gives the rest of us an opportunity to see who has been starring on which shows.

Please let us know the same information as the last time:

    (Sample)
    Title: A Child Called It
    Author: Melissa Nathan
    Show Number: A-3
Why are you using this book for this show: This book is a biography about David Pelzer.

Remember that this challenge is retroactive. So a book that you read previously this month may still be counted at this check-in or at a later check in.

So, has anyone been asked for an autograph yet? =P

I did not rearrange any of my books so these are all new to the list. Can't wait to see if you buy-in to my argument for Memoirs of a Geisha ;).

    A-5: Making the Band
Reading Task: Read a book about a musician or a band.
Book: Dark Challenge by Christine Feehan
Reason: The heroine of this story has a mesmerizing, magical voice, literally...it weaves spells. She's spent centuries traveling as a musical performer.

    D-1: Dog the Bounty Hunter
Reading Task: Read a book that features a bounty hunter.
Book: Plum Lovin' by Janet Evanovich
Reason: Our main character is a bonds enforcement agent, which means she goes after the people that skip bail or miss court dates.

    G-3: The Apprentice
Reading Task: Read a business book.
Book: Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden
Reason: Ok...so this one might be out of the box thinking but go with me on this one: Although the book is a work of fiction, it delved heavily into the "behind the scenes" of the life of a geisha, which is very much business oriented. While all glam and artistic on the surface, the girls of an okiya are viewed as business investments, and every effort made to "improve" them are written as debts to the okiya that the girl must then repay when she becomes a full geisha. Every move made by the mother of the okiya, right down to the selling of the geisha's virginity to the highest bidder, is calculated to bring the most funds and reputation to the house for continued success. Is this not a business??

    J-1: Scare Tactics
Reading Task: read a book from the horror genre.
Book: Homebody by Orson Scott Card
Reason: Creepy little story about a house that's alive, literally. And it doesn't like when people knock down the walls.

    K-1: The Crocodile Hunter
Reading Task: read a book about reptiles or a biography about Steve Irwin.
Book: Dark Magic by Christine Feehan
Reason: Our magic couple battle an ancient vampire who has kept himself hidden in the swamps of Louisiana. Disguised as a vicious and huge alligator, the vampire has become so feared in the area that he's whispered of in local legends, referred to as Old Man Alligator.

I agree with JudithAnn. We'll go ahead and count it. For the "stretchers" we'll go on a case by case or book by book judgment. We'll allow you to use this one for the category.

Yay thank you! I was hoping if I made the case reasonable enough, it might float.

I only have two books that don't fit into a show and one that's a duplicate of a show I already posted, so I guess I can't count anything new this check in.
