I have recently finished a vampire novel, a year to write the story that I wanted to see written for everyone who loves vampires but is not exactly a teenager. After 800 pages and nearly 150,000 words, I have begun the process of finding an agent. I have had some success, rather interest for representation, if I cut the book in half making it into two parts. The problem with that, it is already a series as I am working on the next novel. I considered the idea, but as an artist as well, it felt like being asked to cut a painting in half just so it would fit a specific gallery. I'm no fool, I know that since I am a new unknown author that this suggestion is to limit the risks if the book doesn't sell. So, before I entertain the request, I do want to see if the novel can find support to stay the way it is. Only a few have read the entire manuscript, and all agreed that the novel is too complex for young adults, comparing it as "if Anne Rice wrote Twilight.."
I am offering serious test readers an opportunity to read the entire manuscript, and for others, to read a chapter or two. If you like what you read, please consider supporting the book by joining the fan page made on Facebook. I really believe that this book deserves to be published as it is, and that it will be enjoyed by so many.
