Strictly Books

So many Shelfari groups don't talk about books anymore. This is a group where we talk about books, and only books. Good books, bad books, all books, all the time.

We only have a few rules here:

1. You can talk about any books, but please keep the discussions PG since this is not an adult book club, or a kid book club.

    Book Challenge

Could we start a book challenge? We all decide on a select list of books, read them, and then discuss them?

Sounds like a great idea to me! I'm new on here, so have you started reading a list? I can highly recommend Karen Kingsbury, anything ... Janette Oke and Robin Jones Gunn are two of my favorite Christian authors ... I just read James Patterson's Sundays at Tiffany's (it's not Christian, and is lightly fantasy, but a charming story). I'm interested in some by Jodi Piccoult and Kristin Hannah, I love the old classics (Jane Austen!) I actually have a reading list for myself a mile long, but belong to several book clubs and try to read as big a variety as I can find. Let me know if this takes off and if you have a list. I'd love to read and join the discussions!

Yes, there is a book list already starting to take shape. If you would like to go and view and comment on what you would specifically like to read, than I would love to see what I can do.

    Hey Joy G,

You have some of the same authors I like reading, ie. Karen Kingsbury, Janette Oke, James Patterson, Jane Austen. Have you ever read any of Francine Rivers' books - Redeeming Love, The Scarlet Thread, are a couple of hers.

Yes ... Francine Rivers' Mark of the Lion trilogy is fantastic!!!!! I've also read one about Jonathan (David's friend, son of Saul ... I think it was called The Prince) and another one or two. But I especially enjoyed the Mark of the Lion trilogy. Fantastic! I had to read them during my Christmas break, because they took all my concentration. Wonderful books.
