The Theology of G.C. Berkouwer

Berkouwer is a writer from whom I have learned a great deal. I hope that this group will introduce others to his writings.

  • Some articles related to Berkouwer's theology

“My article on "Doxology" in "New Dictionary of Theology" refers directly to
Berkouwer. There are also articles on him in A Twentieth Century Encyclopedia of
Religious Knowledge" (in this book, there is no author named for this
article - it was me who wrote it) and "New Dictionary of Christian
Apologetics" (because this article is theme-related rather than simply
biographical, it contains a bit more about his theological contribution).
A longer article "Pride and Faith in Berkouwer's 'Studies in Dogmatics'" is
online - see www.theologicalstudies.org.uk as well as my own blog - http://charlescameron.wordpress.com
Other online articles, which may be of interest, include "Arminius:
Hero or Heretic?" ("Evangelical Quarterly", 1992) and "Karl Barth: The
    Preacher" ("Evangelical Quarterly", 1994).
Other articles (not online) which draw significantly on Berkouwer are:
"Tensions in Modern Theology" ("Evangel" 23:1, Spring 2005)
    "The Reformation Continues ... " ("Evangel", 20:3, Autumn 2002)
"The Place of Theology in the Contemporary Church: Where does God fit into
Contemporary Religious Debate?" ("Evangel", 14:3, Autumn 1996).”
