Nanga Parbat is the world's ninth highest mountain with an elevation of 8,126 meters . Climbing attempts started in 1895 when Albert F. Mummery led an expedition to the peak but reached almost 7,000 m. In 1930 and onwards Nanga Parbat became the focus for the Germans but many of them died and are still buried in the snow of this mountain. Nanga Parbat was first successfully climbed on July 3, 1953 by an Austrian climber the Hermann Buhl who was a member of the GermanAustrian joint team. Even if you are not a climber you can go to the base camp of this mountain and it is beautiful place to visit but only in summer.
