  Hi, I'm Raena. I recently read J.D. Salinger's Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters, and was astounded by the amount of words I didn't know and quotes that literally took my breath away. And since then I've been obSESSED with quotes. i literally have a whole wall in my room covered in them. So here i am!

    I used to keep quotes in a note book. It's so much easier now to keep them on the computer!!

    I keep a pad of paper next to me while I read to write down words I need to look up later...usually those are the ones I use in the Word A Day discussion!

  Names Julie and I'm from Ohio and ever since I can remember I have liked to quote things and be it movie, book, or tacky posters oozing with cheeziness. Although my grammer and spelling are often lacking in experience I try my best to get my message across. I join Shelfri a few weeks ago by request of my sister the out of work librarian and once again because of her I joined this group cuz I found it on her page and I thought the monkey avatar kicked butt.

    yes i did! rather than be selective and say hi to all my special friends and exclude those who i do not yet know, i made a general lame rhyme. i remembered your advice about thinking haiku and not needing to rhyme :) one day i will finish my own... and yes, i do feel like a new member every time i set unpolished finger in here! wow, look at all the new avatars!   I adore reading because it can take me faraway from reality.
  I plan on reading tons of books this summer. June is my month for fun reading, july is my month for historical reading and august is my homework month of reading.
  I have loved quotes for quite some time now and collect them on a little post it that I put in a jar.
  The Spartans were known for being able to say a lot in a few words and I really admire that ability. I strive to be laconic and not to babble on too much but talking is just so much fun.
  I hope everyone has a great summer and that they become enlightened to new information and may you find a new outlook on life.

  I love reading, and have noticed that whenever I pull out a book and start reading, so do my sons! That makes me so proud that I'm encouraging them to read by showing them, instead of telling them! My husband and I tell them when you read it's like watching a movie inside your head!
