IGNORE YOUR FRIENDS. If you absolutely need a cell phone for emergencies, etc. I siggest getting a Prepay such as TracFone. No monthly bills and you add minutes as you need them.
Having a limit discourages texting, and chatting on a cell phone because it is "cool". I, age 56, and my parents, 80 & 81 y/o each have one so we can be reached when we are out, but that's all.
My son, age 21 is also on the prepay plan-I give him 200 min/month and when they are gone, they are gone until the next time I fill his phone. He is very judicious about using them.
Good for you-grammar is correct spelling. Don't fret, many others get confused by that one.
Suggest you get a copy of "Bryson's Dictionary of Troublesome Words",A Writer's Guide to Getting it Right.By Bill Bryson, Broadway Books, 2002.
This book makes grammar and troublesome words fun to learn. Bill lived in England for 20 years or so, married an English woman and had three children, so he speaks from experience " from both sides of the pond."
Bill moved to England in his earlu 20's and after three children he decided they needed to experience living in the US. Bill was in culture shock when he returned, and his wife and children were fish out of water.
He has since moved back to England, the Yorkshire Dales, where he and his family are more comfortable.
He wrote a wonderful book about his experience of returning to the US. He did not recognize it. The book is "I'm a Stranger Here", notes on returning to America after 20 years away. Printed by Broadway Books, 1999. This is a little off-subject, but it's a fun book to read.
