    Scar and Potbelly

While writing The Morcyth Saga, I came up with a story-telling, braggart duo whose exploits are somewhat far-fetched. I've been considering doing a series of short stories detailing their exploits, both before and after the events detailed in The Morcyth Saga.

Some have wondered why I didn't expand further on how they made it home at the end of The Mists of Sorrow. Frankly, as a reader I was never fond of overly long endings, and if you've ever read any of my books, you'll see my writing reflects that.

This duo is one of the reasons I really like to write. You come up with corky characters that add a touch of levity to the story, while still maintaining a strong story line.

Would anyone care to offer their thoughts about this duo? Good, bad, did you like them? Hate them? Did you know they are going to be Masters of the Pits in the second series? It's true. The previous Master never returned during the rebuilding of The City of Light, so they sort of took over. And like it's now being said, there's the Pits, and then there's the PITS!!

A scar and Potbelly spinnoff is an interesting idea. Their story telling was always enjoyable to me, and Scar was one of my favorite characters.
And it'll be fun to read about them as the masters of the Pit. Will they be like, 'DIY' masters? Getting into the fights themselves?

Still unsure about if they will be fighting or not. To me they always seemed the kind of pair who would rather rake in the profits while another took the risk. I don't know when I will begin one of their tales, but I've been considering doing it as either a series of short stories, or novellas.
