  Diamond Star

  I've got Asaro's latest preordered and it hasn't arrived, but Baen has free sample chapters on their website.

  It flows nicely and moves along. I think Asaro's openings are often weak and generic, but this one gets right into character, setting, and action from the get go.

  It's about a futuristic empathic rockstar who, so far, can't get his rock-show act together, gets overwhelmed by the emotions of the audience. He's got the hots for his producer, described as a barracuda with a taste for D&s. Can they find true love? Will he put on a successful show?
  Lots of fun.

  Hi Lizzie! I went to the Baen site for Diamond Star. It's good. In fact I think that it may be the best that I have read of Catherine Asaro's. It's great to see an author improve even when they are good to begin with.

  Frances welcome to this group.
  Yeah, I think it her best in terms of writing style. I think Quantum Rose is her most creative and Ascendant Sun the best for dramatic irony. Last Hawk is also great for dramtic irony.

  I'm still waiting on the full book to come out. Asaro has a music CD coming out to accompany the book. It's an interesting thing to do. I like that she tries out things, very creative.

  Lizzie and Elisabeth M, I just finished reading DIAMOND STAR this morning to review it on my blog next month. All I can say is that it is amazing. I will try to let you know when the review goes up. I may have a little extra with it. ]:-D I'm excited.

  Lizzie, yes, I do have an ARC. I'm working on several reviews and interviews. Running with my tounge hanging out. LOL These are some wonderful authors.
