Ms. Downlow is a new voice in erotica and her voice resounds quite loudly. Downlow spins a tale of a young wife who is distraught with her husbands infidelity to the point where she seeks and finds a lover of her own.
This is the rationale of the main character Katlynne LaSalle. However, I didn't see it that way. The birth day card and sticky note with a phone number that Katlynne found was not enough of a smoking gun to warrant the main character to break rank on her marriage vows in my opinion.
Many couples in today's society are on the DL swingers. They attend clubs, strip clubs and events separately that teem with hot singles on the prowl. They build and maintain relationships with people of the opposite sex and they...know...that their spouse is cheating because they are doing the exact same things. However, instead of discussing their needs and mutually agreeing to a beautiful open relationship they take on an unspoken...don't ask don't tell...policy between each other as they...pretend...to be monogamous.
This is obvious with supposedly hurt and naive Katlynne who sure had allot of damn game and more-so with her lover Sexy who gives no reason at all for doing (and quite well) the voluptuous Katlynne when he has a sweet and attractive woman at home that he has no serious issues with. In fact, when asked by Katlynne how he would feel if his wife was riding another man's pole, Sexy replied, "...if she's not leaving me for ole dude, I don't need to know 'bout it."
Say whaaaat?
Now don't get me wrong, I would never hate on a player, playette, pimp or swinger. In fact I've been called several of these things. But if you're one of the above don't lie to yourself or others just admit what you are and what you want to do. It's all good. And Katlynne should have kept it real and just admitted...she wanted some extra dick.
This is a great book by a new author be sure to get it. But don't believe the title. She did him because she wanted to.
