New Title

Here's how you play!
The first person to post will list three bands of their choice.
The next person will pick one band out of the three choices given (even if they don't like the choices) and tell us their favorite song by the band they chose.
If they haven't heard anything by that artist then they can go listen to a song by that artist (I'd recommend playlist.com).

  Ugh, it's so hard to choose a favorite of MCR. The ones I listen to the most are on The Black Parade. I love Mama, Teenagers and Welcome To The Black Parade. But all of their songs are pretty awesome!

I'd have to say "Shake it' by Metro Station not my favorate song but it has a catchy beat to it that kinda makes you want to dance (even if you're not good at it and hate it like me). You guys do know that the lead singer is Miley Cyrus's brother. I think I read that in one of my Alternative Press magazines. Oh well good song.

  Yeah, one of the guys' is her half brother or something, and the other guy is the brother of the boy on Hannah Montana. I know this sounds rather horrible, but I refused to listen to Metro Station when I found this out a few months ago. But then I realized, hey, I like their music - might as well listen to it! lol

Ugh, I hate BMTH. The lead singer seems horrible from what I've heard. A lyric to one of their songs are, "After everything you put me through, I should have ****ing pissed on you." Why would you say that?? Sorry for my ranting. =P

The Used are good. I don't listen to much screamo so that's really all I know. Though after a while their songs get depressing, Bert talks about "cutting" a lot.
I decided to try something new and listened to "A Pacific Romance" by Last Winter. To be honest. They weren't that great, Last Winter just didn't strike me as a band who stood out. I guess that's just me. =P

Okay, I'm going to be boring and not try something new, sorry. =P Anywhoo, it's hard to pick a favorite by Death Cab For Cutie, I actually like them a lot. But I'm gonna go with "Crooked Teeth." And though "I Will Possess Your Heart" is pretty popular, I still love that song. But if you buy that song, don't get the radio edit!! I happen to love the 4 minute intro. The only song I like by Be Your Own Pet is "The Kelly Affair." I thought it was hilarious the first time I heard it, and really related to it because I live in a valley where everybody parties all the time and everybody has sex on their minds. hehe

From the thirty second clip they give you while sampling on iTunes, I thought City Sleeps were pretty good. They aren't the best in the world, but I liked 'em enough. I listened to "Prototype" and "Not an Angel".

"Not An Angel" and "Sleep With Me" used to give me chills. I should dig out their CD and listen to it...
Brand New's "Limousine" gives me chills. We were driving on a road on our way to Long Island back in November, and my brother's friend (who lives in Long Island and Brand New originated in Long Island) told us how Brand New made a song about the tragic death of a seven-year-old girl. She had been the flower girl at her aunt's wedding and on the way to the reception (I believe...), a drunk driver hit the limousine she was riding in, and the hit decapitated her (the driver of the limousine also died). Her severed head landed in her mother's lap. True story...and it was scary to be driving on that same road... Hence the name "Limousine." Listen to them counting up to seven in the lyrics of the song...

I love Underoath. Aaron just...ahhh...there is no way to describe him. His drumming and his singing is amazing. I always have the drowning in my sleep part of "It's Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door" stuck in my head.

I had heard about NOFX a lot from reading AP magazine and watching Fuse, so finally when I heard one of their songs I thought it was terrible. The lead singer wasn't really even singing. I'm not sure what the song was called though....

THE KILLERS!! Definitely one of my favorite bands ever. Enough said. My absolute favorite songs is "Smile Like You Mean It." Hot Fuss (their first album) was what got me into music that was not my parents' and whenever I hear that specific song, I just feel really happy. I'm smilin' like ya mean it, baby! ;P Anyway, other favorites are "I Can't Stay," "Spaceman," "Sam's Town (Abbey Road Version)," and "On Top." Can't wait till I get to see them live on September 24th!

  Aww, I love Coldplay! When I saw Cute Is What We Aim For live, Breathe Carolina was one of the opening acts and I was NOT impressed. However, I did feel bad for them cause they only got to play like 5 songs since something went wrong during soundcheck.

Weezer had some of the best humor! I love 'em! Not just their humor. Their songs are constantly getting stuck in my head and they're just awesome. I REALLY wish I could've seen them at Virgin Mobile Free Fest...did anybody get to go there, by the way?

I listened to a song by Owl City on the radio called Fireflies. I was in the back seat, and my dad wasn't digging it and changed it, but I was enjoying it. The singer reminded me of Death Cab For Cutie's singer, but their sound was way edgier. I want to listen to more of their stuff.

I'll pick Maroon 5. Maroon 5 was the first real concert I went to. It was in 6th grade, and to be honest, it was pretty great. I don't listen to them much at all anymore though. :( My favorite song is probably "Harder To Breathe" or "Won't Go Home Without You."

DUDE! I just discovered Sigur Ros 2 days ago while listening to Animal Collective's channel on pandora for HOURS. I had a long exhausting day of trying to get my school work wrapped up for the year, and whenever I heard the song "Se Lest" I just fell in love. I'm definitely going to check them out more cause they are right up my alley!
(Oh and p.s.- Don't even get me started about Fleet Foxes! They're probably one of my all time favorite bands.)
