    Real Life love story

I know they say romance is only in book but I was wondering if anyone had a real life romance they would like tell. I like to hear that romance isn't dead and is in reality not just books. Does anyone have a dashing gentlemen they like to tell use about?

I would love to hear a real love story too. Sometimes I give up on the idea of true love, I mean most of the men I know are jerks.
Some other times I am more optimistic and believe that maybe there is a prince charming out there waiting for me :)

I'm with you there!! Most dates I go on I rather be home reading a good book. I did have amazing date the other night but he has yet to call. I just don't understand how sometimes a date is so magical to one person yet not the other. I'm somewhat in your vote sometimes very optimistic other times very disappointed. I know its out there so keep your chin up. My friends have had some beautiful love stories to tell. I still believe we are fated to find love somewhere just takes time. I went to a fortune telller once she told me love would come to me later in life. I guess I just have to wait :)

I don't have a beautiful love story to tell. *laughs* Maybe because I've only been in love once in my twenty years of existence. And the fact that it was an unrequited love made it all the more painful. =(

I think that one of the reason why I'm reading romance novels is that it gives me hope that maybe someday, I will find the right man and we will both make our beautiful love story together.♥

But like what my mother said, I'm still young.♥ I need to be patient and wait. Everything will happen in God's time. =)

Unrequited love is the worse. I was in love with this guy all through high school. I always wanted him then in college I had a chance with him. Ended up he was a jerk we dated for like 2 weeks lol. I wasted a lot of high school pining over someone not worth it. I've dated a lot of guys in my 30 years, been in love with a few but never meet that guy that makes me breathless. I figure though I rather be single forever then settle for someone not up to par. I'll read romances until he comes along to pass the time. Hopefully he won't walk by though while my heads in a book and I miss him. lol

I feel in love with him back in high school. We were good friends. I didn't want to ruin the friendship so I had to let him go. Maybe that's the reason why I didn't date any guys back in high school because I was still hoping that we could still be together in the end.

In our senior year, she dated one of my friends. It was a fact I had come to accept with great pain and not a few tears. That's when I knew I needed to stop. ♥

I agree Sarahann! It's better to wait. The right guy will come. In the meantime, we shall devour ourselves with highlanders, cowboys, dukes, and the likes. *laughs*

I never dated guys in high school, but I'd always heard that the ones that don't date alot usually find the best one when they finally do date someone! I met my boyfriend at my last job, I had been laid off from another job and started working at a place where I was the only girl, boy was I nervous lol! I guess for me it worked out that I got laid off, I found the love of my life!! We have been together almost 5 years now, had a rough patch about 2 years into the relationship but it all worked out and we are better now than ever :)

Keep up the hope, you guys will find the one guy who makes your toes curl when you kiss him haha!! :) Until then, good thing there are hunky heroes in the books!!!!

I'm new to this group, but Grain de Beaute was one of my first friends on Shelfari. Hi, Grain (can't recall your real name now). Hope you don't mind my putting in my two cents???

Anyway, as you can tell by my pic, I'm NOT young, have had 44 years of a good marraige, although my other half died in 1995. We met when I was only 17, he was 6 months younger, and our time together (7 children; 6 still living) had so many ups and downs it was like a rollercoaster. We were poorer most of those years, and the memories are so wonderful because we HAD to make our own fun. Many of my friends have l-o-n-g marraiges, and the love has changed to such familiarity that at times it's laughable. And their stories of how they met, when they met, are as varied as the couples are. Remember, you youngsters, romance is mainly in those books we love to read. The real thing will probably come up and smack you at a time you don't even realize it. Take chances to meet people, meet their friends, but TALK. Some of the old-fashioned things, like playing board games at home, etc., can give you the very best idea of how someone really is. It's amazing, but true. Time at a movie is truly wasted until you know someone - it's two hours you could have been talking about one another. And bars??? Meat raffles!!! Don't get me started .......

Best of everything.... I'm closing my Advice Shoppe!!! LOL.
