I'm new to this group, but Grain de Beaute was one of my first friends on Shelfari. Hi, Grain (can't recall your real name now). Hope you don't mind my putting in my two cents???
Anyway, as you can tell by my pic, I'm NOT young, have had 44 years of a good marraige, although my other half died in 1995. We met when I was only 17, he was 6 months younger, and our time together (7 children; 6 still living) had so many ups and downs it was like a rollercoaster. We were poorer most of those years, and the memories are so wonderful because we HAD to make our own fun. Many of my friends have l-o-n-g marraiges, and the love has changed to such familiarity that at times it's laughable. And their stories of how they met, when they met, are as varied as the couples are. Remember, you youngsters, romance is mainly in those books we love to read. The real thing will probably come up and smack you at a time you don't even realize it. Take chances to meet people, meet their friends, but TALK. Some of the old-fashioned things, like playing board games at home, etc., can give you the very best idea of how someone really is. It's amazing, but true. Time at a movie is truly wasted until you know someone - it's two hours you could have been talking about one another. And bars??? Meat raffles!!! Don't get me started .......
Best of everything.... I'm closing my Advice Shoppe!!! LOL.
