Great Green Gobs (of Easy Eco-Friendly Stuff)

We all want the world to be a better place -- less garbage, less pollution, more trees and green stuff.

Still, we're lazy. Most of us aren't going to picket polluters or collect cans from street corners for recycling or campaign to institute greener practices in our cities and towns, even though we have a sneaking suspicion that we...more »

Are there changes you really want to make that aren't that hard to do or aren't that expensive but you just don't like 'em? Cuz you're used to your 'regular' things? This discussion isn't about being too lazy to make the changes, it's about not wanting to give up certain things you like!

For instance....

I really want to switch to compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFL's) but I just can't do it because I don't like the light they give off. I'm like the lighting that I'm used to from regular bulbs. :-( I'm fighting myself on this though because it's such a simple change to make and doesn't cost much......in fact it would save in the long run. But yet I haven't done it yet. I've put CFL's in my laundry room and storage room because I don't care what kind of lighting is in those rooms. So I'm slowly getting there...

What kind of comforts don't you want to give up? I know lots of people that don't want to give up their darn plastic water bottle habits! :)

I am having a hard time giving up fruit in all seasons...it's better to eat organic and in doing so, you're not going to have strawberries in January--but that's hard--I'm trying, but it's a tough thing to give up--I mean they make it so easy on you that you just come to expect that you will be able to have ANYTHING that you want at anytime of the year that you want it....also, I had a SUPER hard time giving up and going to organic milk--why? welllll, 1 gallon of "regular" milk here is $3.39, 1/2 a gallon of organic milk is $3.59---that's a huge difference, not just in price, but in amount of milk!
