    Kelley Armstrong?

I just saw one of her books in the bookstore when I was browsing yesterday. Didn't get a chance to read more than a couple of sentences in the jacket as the little one was yanking me towards the voom-voom books but what little I saw and read on amazon looked good. I'm sure someone here has read her. What did you think?

Okay, here's my completely honest opinion of her Women of the Otherworld books. I loved the ones that involve Clay, Elena, and Jeremy. That would be the werewolf books, Bitten, Stolen, Broken, and a short story in My Big Fat Supernatural Honeymoon. I enjoyed the witch books in the series and liked them well enough, especially the ones where Paige wasn't the narrator. i really didn't like Paige so that sort of affect my enjoyment and I absolutely fell in love with Jeremy, Clay, Elena, and the other werewolves so that sort of skewed my liking the witch books as much as well LOL I highly recommend Kelley Armstrong as an author, I also liked her book Exit Strategy, which is the start of a suspense/thriller series. I can't wait for her YA books that are supposed to be set in her Women of the Otherworld series with different characters.

I guess I'm in the minority here. I liked Kelley's witch books way better than her werewolf ones. In fact the only werewolf book I liked was Stolen which introduced witches and other supernaturals. Don't get me wrong, I do like Jeremy and the rest of the Pack. I just like it better when Otherworld is broadened to include the rest of the races.

And Nightshade, I did read the books in order (because I'm obsessive like that), so it can't be because of the narrator I read first. Regardless, 4boyz4me I want to add my voice in recommending the series and look forward to reading about your reactions. :D

I'm another reader who prefers her werewolf books. Just couldn't get into the witch books. Liked No Humans Involved though, haven't read Personal Demon yet.

Thanks. I just picked up Bitten so I guess I'll find out how I like her. Now to find some extra reading time so I can read it. LOL

And Witchy Rebecca, I think I was looking at her newest book, Personal Demon. I was just in the store browsing in their hardback section to see what was new out.

I'm a huge Kelley fan, I've got all the books in the series and love them all.
Past discussions have led me to the conclusion that your favourite characters depend on what books you read first.
If you start with an Elena one, you prefer Elena over Paige and vice versa.

See, I don't think that's the case, I just don't like Paige, never have, not since the moment she appeared on the scene. I liked Eve though which seems odd since when she first appeared she wasn't a sympathetic character at all but I liked her. Paige just grated on my nerves with her non stop whining woe is me crap. I even told Kelley about it on her boards when I used to frequent there. LOL I have a friend who isn't a big shifter fan and even she prefers the Elena books over Paige because of the incessant whining.

I've read Bitten and I thought it was a GREAT read. Jeremy, Clay, and Elena are awesome characters. They are so deep. Ms. Armstrong did fabulous job of creating them. I have yet to read the rest of the books but am planning to one of these days.

Ain't that the truth....I will say tho, Bitten has been a wonderful read. I'm less than 70 pages from the end and it's HARD to put down! I think I need to make another trip to the bookstore to pick up the next one soon.

I'm the odd one out here.
I've read several of her books and from different series.
    Some were okay.
    Some were not.
None of them grabbed my attention a whole lot.

I've heard good things about her books as far as the werewolf descriptions, but a lot of people like her newest books because she begins to incorporate other creatures like witches and fae. Don't quote me on this I have yet to read her.

I loved all of her books,I must say i did prefer the werewolf books to the witch books. I did enjoy the witch books after I started reading Dimestore magic for the 4th time & realizing that Paige is not always a wining nagging pain in the rear but grew as a character i actually like.

Since it's been so long since anyone posted to this topic, no one is probably even interested in it now, but I have to say that I have read everyone of K.A.'s Women of the Otherworld series and I loved them all. Of course, I enjoyed some more than others, but I did enjoy them all. I just finished #7 and #8, No Humans Involved and Personal Demon, and I have pre-ordered the 9th one, Living With the Dead. I can't wait to get it.

Each book in the series is narrated by one character, but many others are introduced, who later have their own story. The 1st two are about Elena, the female werewolf, the next two about Paige, the witch, the 5th, is about Eve, a dead dark witch, who is sent by the Fates to recapture a demon who possesses humans and helps them to act on their darkest fantasies of murder and mayhem. The 6th is once again about the werewolf Elena, who is pregnant, and with her pack, are battling time a time traveling murderer and zombies. (Not as silly and campy as it sounds! LOL!) The 7th, is about Jaime Vegas, a TV Spiritualist and a real necromancer, and the 8th, is about Hope Adams, a tabloid journalist, who's mother is human and her father is Luciifer, a Chaos Demon, and she has inherited his ability to see when trouble (chaos) is coming, but she also enjoys, and is addicted to, the emotions that chaos brings, so has a dilemma between helping stop it so no one she cares about gets hurt and wanting it to happen for the pleasure it gives her. The 9th one will be narrated by a human who is framed for murder and is helped by Hope, the half-demon and a necromancer detective, who believe that the real murderer is a supernatural one. This human knows nothing about the supernatural world that co-exists with her world, but she is about to find out.

I love Kelley's series, because it happens in the present world, and is peopled with supernaturals who exist right alongside a human population, who for the most part have no idea they even exist. She makes it seem possible and very believable, and her characters are wonderful, especially because she makes them seem so real. They have the same problems that we do. Family issues, relationship problems, etc. on top of the supernatural problems she gives them to solve. I would recommend them to anyone. I was delighted when I found her series, and hate that I don't have anymore to read right now. I enjoyed it that much!
