    Favorite book-reading beverage?

I don't know about anyone else, but when I sit down to read a book I love to have a certain beverage present to sip at. When I read a fantasy novel I love making a cup of hot mulled cider with a possible snack of fresh bread and slices of cheese, and when I read science fiction I like something tangy like lemonade.

Are there any drinks/snacks that you like to have nearby while reading?

I'm a fan of hot tea while doing anything, especially reading. :)

I go to a café almost every day to read, so I always have a coffee there (sometimes a fancy coffee if I'm feeling adventurous!). At home I like to have tea while reading...usually chamomile tea or mint tea or something without caffeine, as I often read at night. It's very typical, I know, but tea and reading just go together so well.

I'd have to agree with both Carly & Brenna on this, tea-drinking & reading are just so good together! What type of tea I have would depend more on my own mood though, not so much the manner of book I'm reading.

(I'm having a rather strong cup of Earl Gray right now...)

Hot chocolate, if I'm reading at some place outside of home.
Chocolate milk, if I'm reading at home.
Chocolate is always such an upper, that I feel it's the best beverage for reading, well, at least for me :)

I love your ideas Danielle! If we had mulled cider I would do that too. I usually have a cold drink when I'm reading, unless it's winter and I'm snuggled up with lots of blankets then it would have to be hot chocolate.

Boring ol' cup 'o joe... with flavored cream. I also drink a variation of teas, usually chamomile, green, or Indian spice.

I usually make something sort of fancy to sip on, whether it be a flavored lemonade, minted water, or a good old fashioned Shirley Temple. I love to sit down and have a fun drink while I read!
