Notes from Chapter Ten Web Cast~A New Earth

If challenges are an obstacle, that means the ego is involved.

How I Should Fit into the Totality of Things:
My Primary Actions should be connected to the spirit, be who I am, be my consciousness. My Secondary Actions should be what I do.

    Motto: Be here, be now.

Our civilization is run by our egos and feels threatened by our spirits. Ego creates dogmatic religions.

Tolle’s teaching are not a religion but are spiritual ideas you apply to your life that may fit into your religious beliefs.

You change the world by what YOU do in your PERSONAL life. What you do helps diffuse the wrongdoing of the egoic world. You do not condone global wrongs (e.g. war, rape, bullying); you accept that this is what is right now in time, have compassion that wrongdoers are unconscious and are inflicting wrongdoing on others. You have compassion for these people being controlled by ego.

Joy is not pleasure. Joy comes from the fullness within you. It is not from what you do, but, from the fullness within you that flows out to others. It is your deep sense of aliveness from living in the now. It is the joy of being.

I give off positive energy if my present moment is friendly, open, accepting not dysfunctional.

The world is not here to make me happy. It is here to make me conscious.

I first learned of this quote when watching the last A New Earth webcast. Tolle presented Oprah with a new leather bound copy of his book with this inscription to her in it:
quote from the Persian poet Hafiz:
“I am a hole in the flute that the Christ’s breath moves through. Listen to this music.”
