"Affluenza" based on the PBS special

This book by John De Graaf, David Wann, and Thomas H. Naylor looks at the epidemic of over-consumption. Have you read it? What did you think of it?

I have not read it, I have seen it in the stores and looked it over. It looks interesting, however at the moment I have several other books I wish to finish. This is one I would like to read later, though.

I read this book about a year and a half ago and I LOVED it! I think I underlined something on every page. It has inspired me to work towards simplicity in my life and I'm richer for it. AFFLUENZA is a must read!

I read Affluenza a couple of years ago from the library and then requested a copy for Christmas. Kind of ironic, I know, but I liked it so much and wanted a copy that I could loan out to family and friends. It does make you think and puts our strive for material wealth into perspective.

This book was on the ISU summer reading list for summer 2007 then John de Graff came to town and lectured on the book. It was a great read and lecture. Helpful when you start to feel pressured by other people's value systems.

      I agree FlowerFly.

In reading about the authors' value systems I realised there is always room for me to improve! This book was wonderfully challenging.
