      Hi there
Have you read Ship Breaker by Paolo Baciogalupi? He has also written The Windup Girl. I recommend them both, if you liked The Hunger Games series.

I expect you have heard of Hugh Howey's Wool? I have just bought it for my laptop but have not read it yet. (on Amazon)
      Cheers!

    Hello,
I have had my kindle for almost a year and I love it. I never leave home without it and I sleep with it under my pillow. I have enjoyed reading for as long as I remember. I would always get stuck on one author and read their books until I had no more available to me. Since getting my kindle I have read several different authors that I would have never read before. Not because they were not interesting but because I just never ran across them. I have subscribed to several different facebook pages for ebooks and for kindle and have gotten several great recommendations on books that I would have never heard of otherwise. I have 2 local libraries that now lend books for kinde so it seems I read even more now. I love the idea of having groups such as this one where I can interact with others who love to read as much as I do.

Hi Everyone. My name is Bryan and I am an ereader fan, having a Kindle, and I am also an author. I have several works of fiction available for Kindle and Nook and all other e-readers via Smashwords. I normally write horror and thrillers and just finished my first hard-boiled detective novel.

Hello everyone, I'm Sadie. I read pretty much anything except romance, but my preferred genre is sci-fi/fantasy. "My" ereader is a nook. I put 'my' in quotes 'cause ostensibly its my husband's, but he's never getting it back and we both know it. I also occasionally read on Kindle for Mac. Like Lynn, above, I love the way ereaders put unknown authors within reach. I look forward to getting to know everyone.

I am glad to now be part of this group. I love to read and know many authors since I go to A LOT OF WRITER CONVENTIONS. I also get advance copies which are great.

I am also a writer of romantic thrillers under my name and erotic romance under the name of Beth Gray. On the internet I am known as Sir John where I am very active. Just for example on twitter I have over 75,000 followers.
One of my novels is being considered for a movie. THE REJECTION LETTER has a very simple hook: Just asking, but after sleeping with an agent, shouldn't you receive more than a form rejection letter?

I hope to learn more about everyone here.

    Hi All
I just joined the group. I own a Kindle Keyboard and Fire (#1) ,and also a Nook ,which sadly, I havent had time to use much yet .
It took awhile to get used to using the Kindle, but now that I have used it a lot, it's hard to read from paper books any longer . They feel too clunky and heavy to hold . I like almost any type books, except for romance and sci-fi,but have no problem with anyone who enjoys them. We all like different things ,which is what makes it an interesting place . :)
Hope to find some new and interesting book ideas in this group, and to meet new friends who also enjoy reading .

agreed, though my library is closer, as much as my husband reads books were taking up quite a bit of his budget before I convinced him to buy a kindle, the library here does not seem to have books I want to read though, but with friends collections and free ones I have found on Amazon and other places I have plenty to read and so do my husband and mother-in-law, we all have kindles and we all love them

Hi, my name is Andy Dale.I have to admit I am really here as an author trying to promote my first fictional novel 'First Years - Piranhas in the Bedroom', but I have been amazed at how many books from authors I like are listed on this site. My biggest influences are Mike Gayle and Nick Hornby. I feel I really relate to their humour and their understanding of people. I thougt I had all their books but it seems I am wrong.

I read miostly onn my iPad.

Would love any comments on my ebook, 'First Years - Piranhas in the Bedroom'. Then I can start writing a follow up.

Hello, Jules here. I was a committed physical book reader and never thought I would enjoy reading on an e-reader. The physical handling and the smell (yes, there is nothing better than the smell of a new book) were irreplaceable. However, I had to face facts when I ran out of room on my bookshelves - either part with the best friends I have ever had or buy a Kindle so I did just that. I haven't looked back since.

Hi Everyone, I'm Karen from Melbourne Australia and I use a Sony Reader PRS-350 that my husband bought me as a gift in 2011. I have really only started to use it in earnest in the last 6 months as I have finally finished all the hard copy books I had bought previously. I love how easy it is to read in bed with the itsy-bitsy nightlight and not disturb my hubby.

I mostly read crime/detective novels but also like lawyer novels too. I'm currently making my way through Sue Grafton's alphabet series and will then catch up on Patricia Cornwell's and Janet Evanovich's latest couple.

I'm also a fan of Michael Connelly and John Grisham and have recently discovered Tess Gerittsen and Karin Slaughter and am enjoying their books too.

So many books so little time!

Hi everyone! I have the basic Nook and just a couple of weeks ago got a Kindle Fire. I decided to get the Kindle because Amazon offers so many more free books than B&N. I'm mostly into nonfiction and have 2 groups here, Biography and True Crime. Romance, fantasy and sci-fi are easy to find for free but the nonfiction is few and far between. Nevertheless, I have 6 free books on my Kindle so far and that's plenty. I dont need hundreds. Looking forward to being part of the group.

Hi all, three months ago I decided to take time off and go travelling around India (I live in Sydney ,Autralia). I bought five books to take with me, knowing that I would also buy more as and when I needed. My boyfriend looked at my backpac and shook his head in his despair. He took the books out of my bag and bought them on Amazon to download on his Kindle. I wont say that I love it, I find myself licking my finger to turn a page more often than not, but it has its moments. Reading in bed is sooo much more pleasurable now! And the fact that so many classics are available for free is such an incentive! So, hello all from a slightly reluctant but easy to convince Kindle newbie!

Discovered Shelfari about 1 week ago and am still learning the site. This looks like a great group! I received a Kindle as a present in December 2011 even though I had told my hubby that I was very happy using the library and finding good deals in used book shops. WELL, I am hooked on my Kindle! lol! I still go to the library on a regular basis but it sure is convenient to download free e-books from the library website!

As you can see my name is Peggy and my favorite books as a young child were the "Little House" series. I'm in Southern Calif, age 63, married with 2 grown sons (only 1 is still at home). Looking forward to finding more books to add to my ever growing TBR list! :D

I am officially a book nut. (You wouldn't believe how many paper books I have in storage or for how long, to say nothing of the condition of our house.)

Ebooks are wonderful because they don't take up more space. They don't have the feel of a paper book, and the formatting and linkage sometimes leave a great deal to be desired, but space is a major consideration in my universe.

So far, my wife and I have the old Kindle Keyboards, the first generation Kindle Fires, and I just purchased a 8.9 inch Fire. My wife also has a Paperwhite, but I don't see the point right now. (Also have an older Nook, but almost never use it.) My only problem with all of this is that Amazon keeps changing the controls on their models. I wish they'd stop that. Anyone for starting a campaign?
