    Travel quiz

    Any one could put questions, 3 to 5 at a time.

    The administrator ( here, me) will keep all of them in order to maintain a data-bank, when each set of questions would be rightly answered.

    It is the job of the question setter to announce 'right answer' for each question and finally to give the signal for posting the next set of questions by another member.

    Who is coming with the 1st set of questions? Please let me keep idle for some time!

      very tough question; I must say!
      It took me 3 days to get the right answer.
      'mosquito nets'. hooray!!!!
      Just now I found the answer from Kiran's note itself ( an imaginary tour to Africa)!!! 'All rooms are naturally ventilated and fitted with mosquito nets over the air vents'.
      Hi Kiran, am I right?
      Then who is coming with the next question?

      Bingo!! Your answer is absolutely correct

      @@Answer
      Mosquito Nets

      Precautions:
      Malaria area - minimize mosquito bites by wearing light, long sleeved clothing and using effective insect repellents (containing Diethyltoluamide DEET) on exposed skin. Sleep under treated mosquito netting or ensure that the doors and windows of your accommodation are screened against mosquitoes. Having a fan or air-conditioner on at night will further suppress mosquito activity. Currently, the three effective anti-malaria tablets are Mefloquine (Lariam or Mefliam), Doxycycline and Malarone (Malanil). It is still possible to contract malaria while on malaria prophylaxis. Note that Lariam may present serious side-effects - please test before you depart.

      Health requirements:
      Yellow Fever inoculations are necessary (this must be done no later than 10 days prior to departure). Anti-malaria tablets are also necessary.

      Disclaimer:
      I am not sure about the medicines suggested above.
      Please enquire travel clinics operating in your area.

      eblue

      arctic region- polar bear, seal, walrus, reindeer, snow-leopard, fox, arctic wolf. some sort of a bird that dives underwater to catch fish (don't know its name).
      antarctic region- penguins!!!! (i love them!!) albatross, seal, whale.
      the difference is that...no large land-based animal lives in the antarctic region..though there is LAND there..whole the arctic region, having NO land, houses large animals.
      is that right?

    @Question - Mitraa's trip to Canada.

    When mitraa was explaining her recent trip back home to canada, you wud have noticed her telling that sunlight was till 9pm. Why was sunlight available very late till that time.

    Mar 20, Jun 20, Sep 22, Dec 21.
    Apart from considering these as regular calendar days of the year, there is something special about this. One or two days behind or forward the above mentioned dates, all over the world, every year we realize certain happenings universally ? just glance on some resources about it, you will experience the feel of happenings on these dates. Its interesting.

      @E-blue
      Hey e-blue, I am not a doctor yaar. When i say this, I remember a joke:

      A famous surgeon went on a safari in Africa. When he came back, his colleagues asked him how it had been. "Oh, it was very disappointing." he said. "I didn't kill a thing. I'd have been better off staying here in the hospital"

      See, how it had been. Thats why i suggested many medicines, and finally :) gave a disclaimer.

      Mission Impossible. Otherwise Prison possible. :)

      @Answer
      e-blue your answer is absolutely correct.

      In U.S/ canada and other countries in Northern Hemispherse, longest day(summer solsctice) begins on Jun 20. The reason is same for sunlight available late till 9pm in canada.

      Mar 20, Jun 20, Sep 22, Dec 21 are All Seasons(Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter) All Reasons.

      Do you want to know how these seasons evolve? Just glance the following article for few mins, you will really enjoy like me, watching some awe-inspiring pictures and reading content:

      http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/space/solarsystem/earth/solsticescience.shtml

      http://www.calendar-updates.com/info/holidays/us/summer.aspx

      Viewing a video on this will be interesting isnt it? Lets watch one:
      http://www.math.nus.edu.sg/aslaksen/applets/sun_fixed/sun_fixed.html

      Now its evident, what causes the seasons. :)
