Here's how to use this brand-new feature:
1.
Go to My Shelfari2.
Click on the "Add a Book" link in the upper right-hand corner3.
Click on "Add Manually" (shortcut:
http://www.shelfari.com/booknew.aspx)4.
Type in the book details on the first page and "Save". Please note: the Title and Author(s) boxes will auto-complete. So let it pause 1 second before you move to the next box to see if the Title or Author(s) already exists so that multiple Author pages aren't created for the same author.
5.
After you hit "save" you'll have the option to upload the cover. Click "upload" if you have the cover or "skip" if you do not. Please note: You cannot go back and upload the cover after creating the new book entry (however, you can upload a cover
after the book is created).
**Allowed image types for uploading covers: .gif, .png, .jpg, .jpeg
6.
Your book is created and you can add it to your shelf! For book covers you'll upload, there is a 2MB limit. Up to that limit, the larger the image the better, as the image is scaled to the size Shelfari needs. Images should be at least 160 pixels tall and whatever width the book is at that height.
Nifty, huh?
So all our Shelfari shelves will be looking much better from now on! Your digital cameras and cellphone cameras now have a new use. (For those with scanners, you'll have a new reason to tinker with it often now!)
Boast your new manually-added books here! Post the links!
Have fun! And spread the word. :-)
