What a classic. We all have to remember this. Very controversial when it came out.
Many wanted to read too much into it. It was what it was.

I should have added Woman by "John Lennon"

Love this song. Hope anyone from the younger generation is here will check out Lennon's music.
He was a talent in his own right apart from the Beatles.

"Imagine" is one of my all-time favorite songs. I still can't believe it has been 30 years since his death. I still remember the breaking news on MTV when it occurred.

There were a lot of good songs on that album. He was voted by Rolling Stones Magazine after his death as the 5th greatest singer of all time.

Lennon was a anti-war and civil rights activist. He was not liked by President Nixon one bit. The Nixon administration tried for four years to deport him. Finally, he green card was denied.

He didn't cut an album for years choosing to stay home with his son. When he came back with an album titled, "Double Fantasy", he was shot and killed I believe about 8 days later by a man named Chapman, whom he had just autographed that album for just a few hours earlier.

Some people liked him, others didn't. He was a different kind of guy but not so different than a lot of musicians back during those days of war. One thing is certain, he had an awesome talent.

Actually he would be 70, not 80. He was 40 when he died December 8, 1980-- 30 years ago.

I remember it as if it were yesterday. I was shocked and could not believe someone would do something so hateful. It's hard to believe it's been 30yrs.
