    Who Gets Sarcoidosis? Sarcoidosis affects people of all ages and races worldwide. It occurs mostly in: Adults between the ages of 20 and 40 African Americans (especially women) People of Asian, German, Irish, Puerto Rican, and Scandinavian origin. In the United States, sarcoidosis affects African Americans somewhat more often and more severely than Caucasians. Studies have shown that sarcoidosis is more likely to affect certain organs in certain populations. For example, Sarcoidosis of the heart and eye appears to be more common in Japan. Painful skin lumps on the legs occur more often in people from Northern Europe. People who are more likely to get sarcoidosis include: Health care workers Nonsmokers Elementary and secondary school teachers People exposed to agricultural dust, insecticides, pesticides, or mold Firefighters. Brothers and sisters, parents, and children of people who have sarcoidosis are more likely than others to have sarcoidosis.

    I think that my Sarcoidosis is coming back, for the last two months I have been losing weight, no appeities, and I break out any do a lot of coughing, special at night. And it getting now every time I hit my legs I get a buised at that spot that I hit, and little rashs aroung the ankles. My doctors are running tests, blood works, breathing tests, now I have to get a chest X-ray, I will be seeing him sept of this month. What can I take on the side. I'm African American. Please let me know what good. no one in my family have it but me. Have A Bless Day!!!

      I suggest you STOP drinking milk, Sarcoidosis patient can't process vitimin D properly and it causes an increase in Granuloma (lesions), Stay out of sunlight for prolonged periods (increases vit.D), find a good rhuematologist. Eat a LOT of veggies avoid too much red meat eat a HIGH fiber diet. Avoid white sugar and flour

      Suppliments - Omega 3, Blue-Green Algae, and Plant Sterols

      If you take prednisone take it in LOW doses

    Okay, but what are these things you are tell me about? I take two 600mg + D calcium,twice a day, so should I take more. I love cereal, and chocolate milk, what else can I drink. Now I only eat chicken, turkey, fish, liver! What is Blue-Green algae and Plant Sterols ? and Where can I buy them at? Thank you very much!! HAVE A BLESSED DAY!!! What can I get to help gain some weight?

    Go to a health food store and ask for Blue-Green Algae or Spirulina, Melatonin is a good natural suppliment to help you sleep...prednisone can screw up your sleep patterns.
