My favorite type is when the heroine has more on her mind than the hero. I like it when she's not completely in love with him until somewhere around the third quarter of the book but even then she doesn't take any crap from him.
It's great when she has an ulterior motive for her interest in him as well.
Carole Mortimer does some really great heroine revenge themes (her bookls from the 80s and lower).
Charlotte Lamb does a great job with the uninterested heroine too!
