  "Something Borrowed" Movie

  Hello Everyone-
  
  I am new to the group :-) I recently finished "Something Borrowed" and I kept thinking throughout the book, "this would be a really great movie..." Well apparently someone else agreed because it is currently being shot now. How does everyone feel about the cast:
  
  Ginnifer Goodwin -Rachel
  Kate Hudson- Darcy
  Colin Farrell- Marcus
  John Krasinski- Dex
  
  I personally don't think I am in love with it. Who would you cast in these roles????

  John Krasinski is actually playing the part of Ethan and Collin Egglesfield (soap opera actor) is playing the part of Dex.

  I think it's a great cast, I love Ginnifer Goodwin & Kate Hudson. I thought Marcus was adorable in the book so I like Colin Farrell for that part. I'm not familiar with the guy who is playing Dex, but I'm sure he'll be great too! Since your new to the group I wanted to let you know we are currently reading the sequel "Something Blue" this month and will have a discussion either this weekend or early next week if you'd like to join ;)

  Thanks for the clarification :-) I just googled the real Dex and he DEFINITELY makes more sense. LOL.

  Yes, I think I am ok with the cast overall. I luv Ginnifer too! Truthfully my only concern is Kate Hudson-who I do like- but I keep seeing her reviving Bride Wars for this role (and I don't think that is what is called for).

  I saw this fantasy list on IMDB:
  Rachel is Rachel McAdams -----] I could seriously see this. Ginnifer always seems somewhat childlike to me (a la Margene) and I didn't see that in Rachel. I saw more of a somber/mature person.
  Darcy is Kate Bosworth-------] No
  Dex is Chris Pine-------------] No
  Marcus is Jake Gyllenhal--------] I would prefer him. Colin Farrell oftentimes seems too dark/brooding to me. Jake could make him more happy go lucky and loveable.
  Ethan is Seth Rogen ----] ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!

  I just finished "Something Blue" so that sounds great! Pls keep me posted.

    I think Chris Pine as Dex and Jake Gyllenhal as Marcus would be great!! I totally agree with you about Colin Farrell. I was thinking maybe Ethan Embry for Ethan.

  You know I was saw Ethan Embry in my head but he is one of those actors who I always like buy never knew their name. HE WOULD BE PERFECT!
  and Chris Pine actually would ne a good fit. You know who I thought they meant....Chris Klein. I don't know why but in my head I always see Chris Klein. So close but yet so different....LOL.

  Gosh all this talk of a fantasy cast is making me wistful.

  I am still trying to think of a perfect Darcy....

  Ethan Embry would be perfect. He is someone who I always enjoy but I never know his name.

  I also agree with Chris Pine. Unfortunately, when I see him name I "see" Chris Klein in my head....their names are so similar and yet they are so different. LOL

  I am still trying to figure out my pick for Darcy....any thoughts on an alternative?

  I would scrap this entire cast especially Collin Farrell. Ewww. I like the Chris Pine idea. As well as Ethan Embry.

  So ....

  Dex - Chris Pine (he's swoony enough)
  Rachel - Anne Hathaway
  Marcus - Desmond Harrington (also very swoony)
  Darcy - Emma Caulfield
