How many books do you plan on reading this year? Do audio books count?

    Save Changes Cancel

I have set a goal for myself to read at least 12 books this year.

As of now this is my reading list:

    1. Best Friends Forever by Jennifer Weiner
    2. Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella (started but never finished)
    3. Mrs. Perfect by Jane Porter (1st book in series)
    4. The Scarlet Thread by Francine Rivers
    5. 1st to Die by James Patterson (Woman's Murder Club)
    6. The Atonement Child by Francine Rivers
    7. Something Borrowed by Emily Giffen
    8. Last Light by Terri Blackstock
    9. Power of a Praying Wife
    10. Queen of Babble by Meg Cabot
    11. Last Light by Terri Blackstock
    12.

Now I was wondering...Do devotional books count as a book read? Or does it need to be a novel? Also, what is your feeling on Audio books? Do they count as a book read?

I'm very curious to see what everyone thinks!

~Also let me know what yearly goal is & what your books are on your list!

    I read 75 in 2009.
So I would like to read a little more, maybe between 80 - 100.

I don't really do audio unless I am traveling by car.
But, yeah i would count them!
I would count anything that is considered a "book" so yeah devotionals count.
    Thats my opinion!

Wow that's amazing! I don't know if I've read that many books in my lifetime! I usually am not in the car long enough for an audio book, but I decided to train to run a half marathon this year (I am not a runner so I have to train before I start training ) So I thought I would try Audio books for when I'm on my treadmill.

I read 105 in 2009. However, this year is going to be pretty busy (studying for the CPA exam and moving to another country in June) so my goal is 50.

I definitely count audio books. It actually takes me longer to listen to one than to read one, so it counts. And yes, I count devotional books as well.

Yeah I figured it probably takes alot of people longer to listen to an 8 disc book as opposed to reading it. I can't believe how many books you guys have read, last year alone!!! That is awesome!!

I've already read 10 books last month.
Not sure of the estimate for this year.
But maybe 2 books per week? Since school might get in the way :D
